Not a Dig Options product but I know a guy who has a Side Winder reversing camera on his 100 series. He is wrapped in how good the quality of the image is as well as how simple it was to install. I wonder if there is a version of that unit that is supplied without screen and can plug into the TP09X1 (or equivalent)

        Hey folks,

Its time I bit the bullet and got my hands on one of these units -

I do have a couple of queries:

Does the unit have a radio mute for interface into mobile phone car kit ?

Later models appear to have issues with Oziexplorer with the screen size resolution has this been rectified

        Any info appreciated

        Cheers

The issues that Outandabout and Mudguts have expressed are for different versions of the Dig_Options In Dash Unit and not for the TP09X1. Outandabout has an 80 series and I believe that Mud Guts has his in a Hilux. For these guys the issues have NOT be resolved but no one with a unit installed in a Prado (90, 95, 120, 125 ,150 or 155) has yet to mention the same issues as far as I have read

I have received my GPS unit and can't get the GPS to work or show any maps. Everything else works fine. Do I have to do anything special? I had it installed by a friend in the business but it's got him stumped also. Thanks Nobby

You have to select the navigation path first.
                Select
                1. Navi from the main menu
                2. select options
                3. Select navigation

a directory tree should pop up on screen and then you select the file path for whatever navigation you are using ie Polnav, Igo, Ozcie.

When this is selected press the little icon in top left corner and that will take you back to the units main menu

Now when you select Navi off the main menu it should load whatever navigation programme you have.

                  Hey guys,
Just thought I'd write and say hi. If any of you have issues that cannot be resolved on PP, please don't hestitate to PM or contact us direct at [email protected]. We're only happy to help. We're workign through the small text issue on our screens. Correct me if I'm wrong but I think this is a common problem for any high definition screen (800 x 480 pixels). I've spoken to a number of people with similar systems from other manufacturers and they comment that they have the same problem. It's a matter of reprogramming Windows on the system to change the resolution but then you get less clarity on your maps. So far the only (half) fix it to use the hires.dat file which is explained on the previous page.
                  Cheers,
                  Matt

                      Hey guys,
A couple of people have commented that after selecting Oziexplorer, the unit will load it, then shut Ozi down and return to the main menu. By adding a file
"landscape 800w x 480h.par1" into the main directory of Ozi with similar files, we were able to stop this from happening. It is a problem with older versions of Ozi that are not set up for high resolution digital screens. If the problem continues to happen, please contact us at [email protected]. The file can be downloaded from:
                      http://rapidshare.com/files/37495792...480h.par1.html
                      All the best,

I have a heap of OziExplorer maps, covering all of the NT and much of the rest of Australia which I bought and used on my PC when I was doing a lot of offroad stuff a few years ago. They have all been calibrated and are in .map, .bsb. and .kap files. I interfaced the tracks from my Garmin GPS11 Plus at the time to make tracks, routes and waypoints on saved copies of the .map files.

                        My questions are as follows.
                        1. can I use the existing files on this unit with OziExplorer and OziExplorerCE?
                        2. will the maps require further calibration, and if so how is this done?
                        3. what and where is the .ecw file?

I'm a bit of a dunce when it comes to this stuff, and I'm getting a bit long in the tooth.

                          1. Sort of. Not sure if the BSB format is supported in OziCE but can be converted to ozfx3 format (see tool listed in 3. below). Give it a go but probably needs conversion
                          2. If the maps seem calibrated when run on Ozi with the Garmin unit then they will be fine in OziCE. Calibration can be performed in Ozi by setting exact points. I have never done this but should be easy to do. A minimum of three points need to be set but the more the better
                          3. An ECW file is a format that ERMapper (I think) uses as a native format. This is basically a container file for the image and calibration file. Ozi explorer can not use these files as is but will generate it's own .map file using the calibration. Once this has been done you can use the .map and .ecw files in both Ozi and OziCE. The problem with these is that OziCE will first attempt to load the entire ECW image file into memory rather than paging it. This can slow down the screen updates considerably. If it fails to load it then it will page it but very slowly. You get better performance by converting to the native format using the conversion tool Img2Ozf which is avaiulable as a free download off of the Ozi site. Thanks Nick,
I have all the maps that I want to use already converted to the .kap .bsb and .map format. These maps have been used on my PC in the past, rather than in/on the Garmin 11 Plus,
So, as I understand it, all I have to do now is to get hold of OziExplorerCE (yet to buy), and OziExplorer (whch I have v3.95.4) , put that and the maps that I want to use onto the 8Gb Micro SD card, and then with the wince_core_runtime_arm.zip, unzip that into the OziExplorerCE and OziExplorer files I put onto the 8Gb Micro SD, and go from there. Is that correct?

Sort of. The maps need to be converted using Img2Ozf to be in a format that is supported by OziCE. I do not think that the .BSB format is supported without coinversion and I'm not familiar with the KAP format unless this is the Kompass format, in which case will require conversion using the above mentioned tool.

Tried Matt's (Dig Options) new interface software - after a bit of quick directory changes in the main.ini file - works a treat - shows just like Matt has posted - press either one and you go into either Igo8 or OziexplorerCE - if you want a copy - PM Matt at Dig Options. Only down side is the graphic - a Hummer - surely someone has a Prado graphic somewhere - if they do - send it to Matt. Çheers Mark
