It is always in GPS mode and within 50m of the border, it gives that cheery little shutdown chirp and the GPS resets and 5 seconds later we're back in business. This has occured on 3 different entry roads, so it's not location specific, but definitely location specific in terms of geography. It doesn't do it going from NSW into QLD. Has anyone else experienced this?

Dave, What GPS application are you running? Is this iGo or OziExplorer? If it's is Ozi then do you have the NSW and QLD maps in different folders?

      Nick,

It's the bog standard iGo AFAIK, although I do have OziExplorer loaded on the same card. I've only fired Ozi up once, long ago and decided it was too much effort to bring it online when I go off-road, so rely on the Garmin Nuvi for that. This has only started within the last 3-4 months, prior to that, no hassles. It's not a "problem", just curious as to what might be causing it.

Not sure then. Possibly a corupt map file? Not 100% sue if iGo does this but I wonder if it is trying to adjust the time due to the change in timezone and having issues?

For those with the premium unit how do you find the screen visibility? Is it okay in bright light or is to so dim as to be annoying?

I find the visibility on mine good except in very bright direct sunshine, on the rare occassion when the sun has been at an angle making visibilty a problem I don't think others units would have done any better.

If this is so does anyone know if you can tell Ozi to look to the USB port for maps and data? I know that Ozi has this feature as I use it now from my PDA but I want to know if this function works with the premium unit. Each time I do a trip I have new waypoint and track files to load and having the SD card in the back of the unit makes this a major pain so I am hoping that I can use a USB stick for this.

                Thanks
Sorry for the late reply, the sd card is at the front of the system. please email me if you have probs and i can assist further.

Hi Dave, the unit could be running out of memory. Have you got loads of update skins etc? I haven't heard of this problem before. Keep me updated if it becomes a problem.

Has anyone fitted one of these to a prado 90 series ? Got any photos of the unit ? I took a quick measure of the double din opening and come up with 170 x 100 - too small.

Drop Matt at Digoptions a line. He also did do an original TP09X1 style unit which is a standard double-din
type size. Same 7" screen as the 200x100mm unit, but with different button sizes/locations to suit a regular
double-din slot. I've had one fitted into the slot in my 70 series ute dashboard for quite a while now working
                        fine.

No it just means they havn't read it yet. Any PM will show in your outbox until the receipient has read it then it will show in your sent items. Seems a bit strange but it does provide you with knowledge that the receipient has at least opened your PM.
