    Re: Dig_Options TP09X1 GPS, Reviews & Information

    My camera is now working.

Connected the brown back wire to the reverse wire and grounded the pink brake wire, reset the unit and away it went.

This gps/dvd etc is just awesome, can't fault it.

                  Re: Dig_Options TP09X1 GPS, Reviews & Information

I had a look at Snowy's post about downloading OziExplorerCE and some free maps. Have got OziExplorerCE downloaded but the maps proved a bit more difficult and time consuming. As I am heading off in 10 days time for a three month trip covering Cape York, Gulf, Top End, Red Centre and bits of Flinders Rangers I am thinking the Hema Australia Raster Maps Collection is the way to go. (Cost $179.00). Is this what you used Spoon and is it all user friendly to install?

                  Cheers - Byrnsie

Spoon, I bought the E-bay headrest monitors with the built in DVD players. I have hooked up the output of one to the input of the other, this way the boys can either watch the same DVD or different ones. Plan is to take a portable hard-drive with a stack of movie titles that they can simply choose from as they please with no need to take a zillion discs. The monitors also came with infra-red headphones and game controllers plus a disc with a 100 games loaded. Best investment I ever made - $390.

I have the option of hooking up the TP09X1 to the headrest monitors but don't think I will bother.

                    Cheers - Byrnsie

                      Re: Dig_Options TP09X1 GPS, Reviews & Information

Byrnsie, Hema maps at 1:250000 are the way to go, they zoom up really well. The downside is they are very big, all of them is about 4 Gig once converted to the correct format for Windows CE. That is also very time consuming, though your computer will do it all, took mine bloody hours, but well worth it .
Once you have done it you need to sort through which maps you need for you trip (all of WA for example.).
I'm doing it now for a trip to Goulburn in September.

It's a real shame the unit (using Ozi) does not see the USB port for some good storage.

Has anyone had any luck running a file explorer program like GS Finder? I tried the various version of GS Finder.
