It would say 'no sd card detected' if no card is inserted. Not sure what your problem is but sometimes mine freezes when I'm mucking around with settings etc so I just put a toothpick in the 'RES' hole top left of unit while it is still on and it resets and reboots.

Hear is another quick and hopefully easy question:
I want to install the reversing camera at the weekend.
I still cant get my head around what to do with the red wire that comes off the camera video lead (head unit end) and the “back wire” that comes off the unit. Do these simply get connected together? and do you need the diode?
Looking at Matts install diagram (https://dl.dropbox.com/u/50328074/DI...20Guide.pdf)it appears as though they are connected together and to the reversing light ? So if I need to lay an additional wire to pick up the signal from the reverse light now is the time to do it.
I assume the Red/Black wires at the other end of the video lead (camera end) go to the +/- of the reversing light or do these just go to a power source
Anyone recall what is needed. I have searched for posts on this but cant find anything that clearly details this.
Any assistance would be appreciated
Aaron

Sorry mate, been a while since I installed mine but I joined it to existing plug for reverse camera option on VX model and didn't use the supplied long cable. Even then can't get the reverse image to come on unless I touch on the aux icon while reversing. If you got the free camera from Matt you'll find it next to useless as mine is far to pale to see anything in daylight. I'm looking to upgrade my camera.

We I got the reverse camera installed seems you jsut connect the red wire of the video cable (unit end) to the blue "back" cable that comes off the unit. At the rear of the car connect the red & black wires to the +/- of the reversing light and bingo it worked. Automatically switches over when you go into reverse. 1 problem i do have is that the reversing camera does not seem to work when the light are on just get a blank screen. Anyone have fix for this?

I had a TP09X1 installed by a tech in my 120 a couple of years ago and have had no trouble with it at all. The camera works fine and the quality of the picture is quite good; you can certainly see everything clearly. The only problem with it is that it is under the number plate and the view is skewed a bit but you get used to that. I have worked out the distances for the different coloured lines so I don't back into anything. I am no help with the wiring though, sorry but if you get it right, it should all work well. The only thing I need is an update for the software; none on their web site yet that I can find.[color=#fa0c23][b]

Forward Facing Cam on AVN11TP
Has anyone installed a forward facing Cam on the AVN11TP? I am toying with the idea of sourcing a Flush mounted CCD cam and mounting inside the Winch Control box on my Sahara bar. This would be helpful viewing what's down in front of me when approaching a steep crest. I presently have the reversing Cam fitted which works well. I'm unsure exactly what this extra cam would connect to on these units. I assume it would be the Aux Video connector and switch to Aux to view. I can't see anywhere that would provide/switch power to the cam when selecting Aux, so does that mean I would need to have permanent power to the cam? (off ignition / ACC). I have posted the question to Matt at Digoptions and awaiting a response, but in the meantime maybe someone else has done it?

Alternatively you could put in a change over relay and selector switch and use the reverse camera input.
