Has anyone installed the digi set top box and also has a reverse camera?

If yes, how did you do it?

      Re: Dig_Options TP09X1 GPS, Reviews & Information

Hi OldSalt - I have, and at this stage I have the rear camera and the DVb-T unit connected via a split RCA plug running through the AUX connection - the rear camera works when you put in reverse and nothing else is on, otherwise I have to switch it manually using the AUX button. Donna has emailed me...."Regarding the Camera problem (not automatically coming on), my supplier said the camera should connect with the "CCD in" red connector, the DVB-T box connect with "AUX'. If the camera is connected correctly (ie. to the reverse light) it should come on automatically" Hope this helps. I have not had time to check this. Cheers Mark

Problem fitting TP09X1. Has anyone had a problem with the iPod cable hitting the steel tube cross member in dash preventing the head unit dash assembly from being replaced snugly in place? At present the unit is sitting about 5mm proud of dashboard. I haven't been able to any posts reporting this problem. I have a 12/06 VX.

        Regards, Dave

Hi Dave - I am about 5mm proud but only on the left side - I had mine fitted by a sparky and only noticed this this week - he did say there were a lot of cables in the back so does not surprise me - it might be about time I had a look at the rear. Cheers Mark

You mean an "ACC" 12 volt source?... there is a wiring diagram on top of the TP09x1 so you could tap into it's loom, or the cig lighter is pretty easy to get at while your in there....

No not the power source, this is the instructions from Matt.

First, connect the group of wires to the main (DVB-T) unit, then

                1. Connect ACC red wire to the car key power source; +12V yellow wire to car battery, black wire to ground

                2. Connect yellow video output to video input of dvd (there is another input you can use other than the CCD, it's next to CCD and called AUX AVIN and it's white), connect red and white audio output to audio input of dvd (these are in the same cable cluster as the 2 x AV outputs).

                3. Connect the DVB antenna and the remote sensor to the DVB-T unit.

I need to know where can I tap into the key power source?

Cool, the big question is, where is a switched 12v (Acc) wire to connect the box to?

I just had a look at the ignition switch.,
There is small plug under the switch, however, I have no idea which to connect to.

You would think that the harness on the headunit would have a factory wire going to the ignition.

Yes the ipod cable does hit when installing the unit ,the way around it is to have all the wires go around the back side of the bar (towards the front of the car).
So when you push the unit in the cables don,t get squash.
When installing slowly push the unit in while tilting it up and once the ipod cable starts to hit use a big long screwdriver or similar tool and gently push the solid part of the ipod cable up and onto the bar, just go slowly and keep pushing the unit and ipod cable at same time so you don,t pop the cable off.

                        Regarding the gigi box install.

I was just checking the harness wiring, there is a red 12V switching wire, would it be OK to tap into that? :?

Yep, if you're not sure check with a test light or multimeter... it should be live with the key in the ACC position and off when it's not.

Here is how you install the digi set top box.

I put the antenna on the roof just above the windscreen on the drivers side.
I removed the windscreen channel cover and run the wire down into the engine bay.
From the engine bay I run the wire into the cabin via the rubber surround of the bunch of cables that I think everyone knows about.

I cut the bottom of the small pocket next to the gear levers in the center console and positioned the box into it, then taped it in place.

Pull out the head unit just enough to access the harness that was supplied with the headunit.

Connect the yellow video cable from the box to the WHITE AUVIN on the headunit.

Connect the red and white cables to the Red AVI in and White AVI in.

Using scotchlocks, I connected the red ACC wire from the box to the red wire on the harness of the headunit.

Again using scotch locks I connected the yellow 12v and black Gnd wire from the box to the yellow and black wires in the harness of the headunit.

It fired up, however, as I am 165k from Adelaide and started it in my garage, I didn't get a signal.

Just going to see a mate and will test it on the way.

                              Hi Oldsalt,
Matt here. Sorry I was a bit late to view your posts and problems. Good to see you worked it out. One customer had problems finding any digital channel except SBS. This was overcome when I provided him with a list of the frequencies for each channel and asked him to manually enter them in. I never heard from him again so I'm assuming it sorted the problem out, no news is good news. As far as DVB-Ts go, these are the best ones I've seen out there (including eBay).
On another note, is someone able to open the 'sys' txt file on the SD card and change the resolution? These are on the X and Y axis. Take note of the existing settings. The resolution of the TP09X1 is 1200 x 234 pixels. I just noticed on customers unit today that the resolution of GPS didn't reflect the screen resolution. It's a long shot but this might improve the quality of the GPS.
                              Matt
