    Re: Dig_Options TP09X1 GPS, Reviews & Information

I'm finding it hard to get the antenna cable connector through the air vent as per the guide. Will the GPS work OK if the antenna is installed under the dash?
I used a big flat screw driver to lever open the gap and a pair of needle nose pliers to pull the plug through.

I imagine the antenna would work just fine under the dash.... it's housed in a plastic box it's self after all.

        Re: Dig_Options TP09X1 GPS, Reviews & Information

Finaly got time to finish my install yesterday... just don't have the free time I used to.

Anyway... so far I'm really impressed with the whole unit. Everything works as it should. I've installed OziExplorer and all of the Hema and GeoScience maps plus a few others. Everything fits on a 4 Gig SD card with plenty of room to spare for later additions.

I have the GPS antenna on the dash. It's stuck down to my dash mat with a bit of velcro. No signal strength issues so far... it can still be moved if need be.

Reverse camera works a treat.. not sure if I like the "Range" lines it puts over the picture... I find them a little distracting.

Just waiting for the set top boxes to come into stock....

I'm really impressed with this unit and looks like it hasn't received any bad feedback at all.

My daughters portable DVD player is in desperate need of an upgrade, I'm wondering is there a chance that you can output a DVD to two other monitors? Similar to this setup here:
          http://www.pradopoint.com/viewtopic....ackhawk#p27161

What do I need to achieve this? Would I be able to run Ozi Explorer whilst the DVD is playing on the two headrest monitors?

Yes, it has a video/audio output... there's a nice set of monitors for sale here:

                viewtopic.php?f=24&t=6329

Not sure on the running of Ozi and playing a DVD at the same time... somebody needs to have a play... or shoot Donna an Email.

My only complaint is the instruction book.... typical Chinglish translation... it'll do your head in.

Looking at the picture it looks like there's only a couple of wires and the RCA leads... I'd say you only need to hook up earth. +12v and an Acc +12v then just plug in the RCA and Antenna :?: ...cant be much more to it...

That's interesting, the image from the rear camera is reversed (or did you wire it up backwards haha) ?

                    This unit is looking good.

My camera shows the actual view behind me, however, there is a mirror adjustment on the head-unit display that will mirror the image.

As Oldsalt said I have it set up in mirror image... works better for me or my brain anyway  ...

Pity you cant turn those range lines off... I find them a bit gimicky and not all that useful.

Thanks to all for the info in this thread, it's been a great help in firstly buying the unit and secondly to install. I finished my install on Saturday and I'm stoked with the unit. I've mounted the GPS antenna in the very corner of the dash on the passenger side for the time being.

Only problem I've noticed is that my iPod interface is a bit slow. It's quick enough to scroll through the music library and start playing music, but when I press stop/pause it takes a good 5 seconds for the unit to respond and the music to stop playing. The screen also takes a long time to refresh once pause is pressed. Small problem that I can live with. Has anyone else experienced this? My IPod is an 80GB Classic (Dec 07).

As mentioned there is AV out to run to rear screens.
You can also use the navigation on the front screen whilst playing a DVD to the rear by setting the DVD playing and then you push and hold the BAND button which also has NAVI marked small above it, and the navigation will come up.

                            Cheers, Mat
