Sorry about that, however, using the free you tube clips is great.

RE THE ANTENNA: I found a micro J-Connector and replaced the one on the powered antenna I bought. No good, worse than the one supplied, so the search continues for a rural friendly one.

      Good idea.

Scandisk seem to be the best for this unit.

I tried Verbatim and kingston and had problems with them.

The only outstanding problem I have is with a decent digital TV antenna.

I just pulled apart the antenna I bought on ebay, no wonder it didn't work as the core wire was not soldered to the circuit board.

          Hi everyone,

new to the forum but I have an 06 hilux and bought the gps after reading this thread. Very impressed with the unit but I was wondering if anyone has attempted running OBD protocol through the unit. I noticed a lot of members were running scangauge's here but I was thinking it would be useful to run the data through the screen via a wireless OBD reader.

Considering Ozi runs through windows Ce 5.0 maybe there is some PPC software which could show the gauge data in dial format rather than running a scangauge. I have talked to Matt and Donna and they suggested I try the Prado forum.

          Any thoughts?

Re the CD not playing, you did remove the transit screw on the top of the unit before fitment right???
If not, since you are taking out the unit, it will give you a chance to take care of it.

I find that my stereo only recognizes my Ipod after pressing a button on the ipod, ie because my ipod sits in my glove box permanently attached to the cable, I have to open the glovy and just hit a button on the ipod, then I am able to go into the IPOD menu on the stereo and it will be able to read off the ipod. If I dont hit a button on the ipod before i go into the IPOD menu, it wont work! It can be a PITA but at least it works with my ipod classic!

Does anyone know exactly what the TTS (text to speech??) do on iGO8? I have the files for it, and think I have set this up under the sys.txt file but I dont know if it works? Does it read out the street names?

Jason, I had an email from matt or Donna where thet stated that the release of iGo on this unit does not support the reading out of Street Names. I believe it's limited to turn buy turn navigation.

If you are quite computer savvy/technical, you can dowload updated versions of iGo 8.0 that have support for speaking the street names. It's still not perfect though. Many of the major road names aren't spoken, thier number is. ie: Instead of "turn left onto Roe Highway" you get "turn left onto S3" spoken. The updated version doesn't contain the screen resolution files that suit the TP0X91 either. You have to hack the zip files to extract them from the supplied version, and include them in the new downloaded versions zip files.

There is also an iGo 8.3 release, but as yet the Australian maps are quite poor, so it's rarely recommended apparently (and the map format has changed from 8.0, so you can't just use the current maps with 8.3).

My updated version seems to work OK apart from a few standard iGo idosyncracies that I havn't figured out a way around (like telling me to do a U-turn at traffic lights, when this is illegal in WA unless signposted otherwise). Saying that, I rarely use the street navigation (igo8), I normally only need navigation when offroad, and ozi-explorer suits me fine for that.

                      hi all,
I installed the unit in my prado 3 weeks ago. It is wahat i always wanted. It took me two days
(one day to remove all the trimmings and second day to install it.all works perfectly except my son's
                      ipod classic.
It definitely has spoken street names. Make sure you select the English(us) female susan as the
                      voice language.
To pair the phone with the unit you have to enter 0000 as the password on your phone.
As for the blue screen on digital tv you might have to move to a higher ground to get reception'.
With me at my place i get nothing but when i move about 1km from my place where it is higher i get all the channels.
I have to get a better antena.I have also installed igo8 on my cheap laser gps. I have navtech igo8 and oziexplorer running
                      on my laser gps..
The reverse camera is fantastic, i like the lines that it projects...and it is clear..

Also how to get the phone to recognise the car now....used to work i the original but my brother put that together, he is in Geraldton.

Am slowly reading my way through the thread but havent seen any where that explains it in my terms anyway.

I maybe able to help with the first problem.

Try pressing the power button on the remote.

Then, on the remote press the menu button.

Using the channel buttons on the remote, select Digital TV.

                        Then just have a play.

OSD or something like that changes the display theme.

Installation, I use "Area Search" to locate the channels.

                          G'day all,

I fitted my unit last week and it is working great. I have an Ipod touch 8GB which I find works ok with the head unit if you use the remote control. The head unit for some reason appears to respond much better if you use the remote control and doesn't seem to hang as much. Just a question - Does anyone know if the Ipod cable coming from the head unit actually charges the Ipod?

                          Thanks, Higgsee. :P

Just got back from bush testing the tpo9x1 across the Simpson.

It had the crap shaken out of it and now has a good coating of red dust but it never missed a beat.

Temperatures ranged from as low as 5 degrees in the morning to near 40 degrees during the day as we neared Birdsville. I had it on 8 to 10 hours every day and it ran perfectly.

I ran Ozi with a combination of Geo Science, Hema and Westprint maps. I also had a Magellan XL as backup and both units displayed identical speeds and coordinates at all times.

On a slightly less happy note, my TP09X1 failed to start last night.

Today, I checked the fuses. I could find 2 fuses under the bonnet, 'Radio 1' and 'Radio 2' - both are ok. Are there any other fuses?

Nothing else has died. The panel illumination to the buttons works, but there is no System boot and no reverse camera action on the screen.

                              Suggestions?

I'll email digi_options to see if there is any other diagnostics I can perform...

There is one fuse in the loom (Inline fuse holder) the unit comes with... PITA to check as it means pulling the unit out.

Have you tried a hard reset?
