    anyone else had this issue?
It may sound silly... But it is connected ? and also confirm that IGO has been set up correctly for the right port and speed ???

The Toyota system does have part of it under teh dash, but the main receiver sit up and with direct access in the 15mm hole just in front of teh driver etc... I have run mine via this and out to the roof... Great signal except when indoors or tunnels :-)

If right under the dash... Then no signal will get to it...

      Guys,

I'm not sure if anyone has tried this, and now that I'm at dialup speeds on my internet connection loading anything is a pain, so I haven't searched.

My 3G iPhone works great with the bluetooth, but more importantly that same bluetooth can be used to play the music I have on it. I'm rapt I have to say. Haven't tried to play the movies I have on it, will report back.

      Cheers,

The GPS was connected I also disabled and reenabled in iGO and searched through different Bauds then the unit recogises and displays the message GPS receiver connected, however still no reception when I open the maps, I also placed the unit on top of the dash to test, but still nothing,

I am having a new antenna sent to me so hopefully this is the problem,

Just finished installing my TP09X1. Went in beautifully thanks to the instructions from 4TShorty, Mav and everyone else here.

The morning after I finished the install I found my battery was flat. I'm wondering if the TP09X1 unit draws power even with the ignition keys out.

I note the manual (Page 1 para 7) states that I should "Turn off the unit before you shut down your car or the unit would use your battery".

With the key out of the ignition the unit doesn't show any signs of life and doesn't appear to be on. The flat battery could be a coincidence as it is almost 18months old and has had a long cold winter. As I mentioned above I followed 4TShorty's instructions so there are no additional power cables (other than the purple wire attached to the red and black wire reverse wire) - other than that its the standard cables that the Toyota Unit used.

Anyone else noted anything similar. I really don't like my chances of remembering to turn off the unit properly before switching off the car.

Just spent two days travelling to Stanthorp and the NSW border... Son even watched 2 DVD's while I was working..

We went 4x4 driving... Had teh GPS running while the Radio was on... Just need to know how to do teh same for USB or CD and GPS as teh main screen..

When I stooped.. I just switched off at the KEY.. Never even thought about the Dig unit..

My son is over the top and can not believe teh quality of the DVD play back and that some of teh stuff he had was using strange codecs.. Never missed a beat...

Also loved the ability to blank the screen of a night.. Less distracting.. IGO8... Still getting the hang of it... Will try my TomTom on the next run...

At NO stage did I ever get a hint of any power draw ( CD and DVD's do get hot... USB look like teh way to go) other than when I was using the system..

I wouldn't be surprised if it was your battery, as you are usually lucky to get 2 years out of one these days.
Some Auto Electricians can check current draw on your battery with everything turned off to see if you have excessive current draw from something, so that might be worth looking at the same time as getting your battery checked.

                Hi all Dig_Options TP09X1 users;

I have been using the IGO8 8.00.35389 and Map 080318 that came installed and while OK... A little out of date. In addition I have tried IGO* previously and never found that it was able to outperform TomTom.

I have been advised that there is a later version of IGO 8.3.xxx that works.... and has newer Maps...

Q1: For general use, what Map software do you have installed on your TP09X1

                1: IGO8 xxxx
                2: TOMTOM
                3: Other

If you have a newer version of IGO8 and or have been able to get Tom-tom installed.. I would be interested to hear from you, as while I have TomTom; I have been unable to get it installed on my TP09X1.

I agree with Mat in that you have a problem somewhere.

The TPO9X1 has no noticeable effect on my battery even after 3-4 days of being parked. It's the original battery (4 years old) and I never turn the unit off, it just comes on and off with ignition.

Yep - thanks Mat and Mick. I think you are probably right - it really doesn't make sense that its drawing enough power to flatten the battery, looks like I'm up for a new one. Wouldn't you know it - first time in my life I read the manual and the bloody thing can't be believed anyway!!!

Still, I'm really enjoying the unit. Its working beautifully - the rearview camera alone is almost worth the money. If anyone is tempted with one of these I'd suggest you have a go.

1 question. How is the visibility of the screen in daylight conditions?

I installed a VMS unit last X-mas and it is totally hopeless and the support staff aren't interested in talking about it.

The VMS unit works fine but the screen is impossible to see in any sort of light conditions. So the unit gets used as an Ipod player and reversing camera out of the garage.

The VMS unit is so bad I am thinking of getting it replaced with another unit but would ilke some feedback on the screens' visibility first.

                      Thx,

I know what you mean as I had a few that I just could not see.

I gotta say that the TP09X1 is 100% better than the others I had.

Naturally, if the sun is shining right on it, it's harder to see, however, 95% of the time I don't have a problem.

Hi Simon - I haven't have any problem at all with daylight visability when I'm driving around. I usually have the GPS screen running with a DVD playing in the background and there's no problem. The toughest test for mine is when I'm reversing out of the carport in the morning with the sun streaming in through the windows - the rearview camera image isn't as easily seen as it usually is but its still more than adequate to back out safely.

I decided to drive round looking for sunlight on my screen to see what I got compared to yours, nothing like it.
Direct sun on the face certainly made it awkward but I must admit that I could always see it.
I find at night I have to turn the radio screen actually off so it doesnt blind me.
The GPS dulls down really well at night but the radio is still bright on the soft mode.
I couldnt be happier with the unit as a hole, even the bluetooth worked today...party time.
Pity about the TV to far away from Perth, works well in the main center of Perth.
