I have the same issue as well - unit about the same age in a 100 series :? Only started this week although I haven't tried to play a dvd since I returned from Birdsville in August.

Keep us informed of your dealings with Matt. Maybe I should send him an email as well.
The unit is easy to replace as I understand it... AND is as best as I can determine less than $20 which I am happy to pay.

I would be following up with MAT ASAP.... My research suggests that this is not un common and for many... We do not always use teh DVD/CD player so may not even know if it is playing up.

NOTE: It is an alignment issue, but without the correct procedure I am not going to try that. Done it before and only 50/50 chance of a good outcome.

The issue is exactly which part... HOP 1200W-B (metal / plastic etc etc) There are lots of HOP-1200W around but the -B is as best I can find out for portable / mobile units. I would also rather replace teh whole DVD/CD unit rather than the lens on its own.. Easer and less problems with alignments etc....

Plenty available on e-bay and the manufacturers direct in china etc The issue again is finding teh right part and some one who will sell less than 5 units - Most happy to sell 1000 plus

Note: If ya remove teh dvd/cd part the rest of the system does not work - At least for my TP09X1 system... Thus at present it is still all installed. I will give it another couple of days and then if need be I will strip out my system and take pics and clearly identify all teh parts. Then re install but not fully lock down, as will need to get access to repair it when teh parts arrive.

Needless to say... Access to local support would be of assistance....

MATT has got back to me... A BIG WEEKEND as I understand IT....

Sorting bits and instructions... Will keep ALL advised

I just got my camera installed, and the video has "tears" and flicks between B&W and colour.

            Any ideas?

could be a dodgy conection or camera.

Depending on how you have wired things up, I would open up the back door and connect a normal digital camera to the video line. Select reverse and look at the picture. If it is fine your rear camera is the most likely problem. If you still have a bad picture connect the digital camera at the input to the TP09X1. If the picture is still bad I would suspect the TP.

I think it is most likely the reversing camera itself though.

              Cheers neil

Thanks Neil - good troubleshooting tips, I'll try it out.

EDIT: swapped in my digital camera as suggested and the picture is fine... so it must be the supplied camera. Hopefully Matt can replace.

Has anyone experienced the problem of the radio losing all memory while playing. We frequently will have the radio on and all of a sudden it goes off the station and begins to search. We are not out of range of the station as this happens in the metro area. Just a nuisance to have to reset all the stations again.. Nobby

Nobby do you have problems with screen sensitivity sometimes? and does it do the Random thing while on other settings like GPS? if so I would suspect the touchscreen. Someone else has had that problem before. I have not heard of just the radio playing up.

I would also review the aerial connection... If you do not bundle all the connectors and get 60% of then to fit into a small gap at the rear and then spread the rest out... You could have a poor aerial and or as what happened to mine... NO AM stations... The aerial connector was off at the rear window..

I think you might be right with the Screen thing. The reception for the radio seems very good so I don't think it is the aerial.I think off memory we did have other things on at the same time. Certainly when it did it last I had the GPS on and when I pressed the radio to reset everything all I got was the Bluetooth screen. I turned the car off and everything went back to normal. I really haven't got the time or the knowhow to go into it but it is a nuisance when it happens. thanks for the advice.

Just bought and installed the premium unit.

While trying to play a dvd i get black screen with "Enjoy music while driving" I get it when stationary with the hand brake on and whilst driving.

Any one had this or able to help. con't seem to find anything in dvd settings.
I did google the error and found something about earthing a cable out but i don't think this would be the issue.

EDIT got an email back from Matt. Love the service
"At the back of the unit there's a pink wire.
Please earth that. Proper installation would
Mean you wire that pink wire to your hand brake wire so you can only watch with hand brake on."

I have had this happen to me, found the screen would get hot either with sunlight or its own self not sure which then start searching for stations most anoying so took the unit out and installed my original Toyota unit. The TP09X1 is now sitting in a cupboard in the shed, best place for it.

I recall this happening to others and was posted in earlier posts in this thread. I believe that Matt had a look at these and replaced the screen or the unit. Best thing would be to contact Matt and ask for his advise/assistance.
