This unit comes with 3 x parts to the camera, camera and a cable with 2 fittings, one with black and red wire, one long lead with loose red wire hanging out each end, and the one which fits to unit with red wire hanging out. What does each of the red wires connect to.
cheers Hatto
The video cable with the red wire hanging out of it...the red wire is the trigger wire which you need to connect to the reverse wire on the head unit...I spliced mine into the wiring loom that came with the unit.
The red wire at the camera end of the video cable gets connected to the reverse wire for the car....and the red wire coming from the camera also gets connected to the reverse wire. Easiest way I found to do this was to find the wires going to the reverse light on the drivers side of the car (colours vary depending on make/model of your car) and splice it into the active wire (not the earth). This means when you select reverse the camera powers up, the head unit then knows that youre in reverse (from the red wire on the video cable) and voila, you automatically see the reverse camera in operation.
Hopefully this makes some sense?
There are other threads on here with pics that show you this but you might need to do a google search to find them.

Hi Scooter
Got it sorted, well sort of.
I connected everything and twisted the wires to check all was working, and it was good so removed keys and then soldiered all the wires, now nothing works-I have power to the unit(have a light on the SRC button on the side but nothing on the screen) not even blue screen. I pulled apart again and twisted back still nothing. Have been waiting for Matt to come back from OS, it has been hard to contact.
Any thoughts
cheers Hatto

OK so I have been searching through this thread and cant seem to find the answer to my question, which is; just how good is the Bluetooth, in particular how clear can the people on the other end of the phone hear you? I have only come across the Dig_Options AVN11TP option as I need to upgrade the Bluetooth from the standard unit. I am self employed and every time a customer calls me when I am out in the car they complain of not being able to hear me clearly, not exactly professional!! I have been looking at a pioneer unit for $700.00 that has a built in Parrot Bluetooth with separate microphone which I know from experience works absolutely briliantly. However for less money I could have the dig-options unit that seemingly does everything the Pioneer does, and is a Satnav as well. However I am concerned because the specs on the Dig_Options say that the Bluetooth Mic is inbuilt, like the Toyota one is and I think what I need is a separate mic. Can someone pleaes compare the bluetooth quality to that of the standard Toyota Unit. If it is the same then I need to go back to looking at the Pioneer unit.

Hi scooter, could you tell me which wire you spliced to on the wiring loom that came with the unit.
I have also bought the AVN11TP and the vidio cable that came with my unit did not have the extra red wire as described by Hatto, so I will have to run one myself but do not know how to connect to the head unit as there is no wiring diagram in the manual.
The unit has a reverse camera icon (middle bottom) of the SRC screen and when activated the reverse camera comes on for around 1 minut before switching off. This tells me the camera is installed correctly but the head unit does not see when the car is placed in reverse.
This would be a simple thing to fix if I knew which wires were what and do not want to damage my unit bu trial and error.
regards fish.

Just a couple of questions with my 8014 (8011). I suspect it would be the same for the 8013.
How do I change the IGO picture that comes up on startup? It comes up a city skyline of buildings.
Is it worth installing the TV digital receiver. I’ve heard mixed reports over how good the reseption is.
Cheers

Can anybody help me with screen calibration on the TP09X1 ? Mine seems to be out as I've got to press above the buttons to make them work. I've tried to use the calibration by chasing the little cross around the screen with the stylus but it just keeps going around. Isn't it supposed to come up with ok or something? I've also had a problem with Oziexplorer locking up sometimes and having to press the reset button(losing all my settings!) Very annoyingCan't we just keep travelling?
