Re: hema maps on i phone
As a back up this may well work OK. Just be aware that the iPhone GPS receiver isn't particularly sensitive. Not so much of a problem in 'open country', but could be a major issue (i.e. not work at all) in mountaneous and tree covered terrain. Tom Tom have an iPhone app (mainly for street navigation), but they also sell an iPhone mount with a built-in GPS receiver/booster to overcome the iPhone's own receiver's limitations. I have no idea if this would work with third party maps, such as HEMA, but food for thought all the same.

I started a thread about iPhone apps a little while back where people can update on good apps they find viewtopic.php?f=1&t=9258&p=122905&hilit=iphone&sid =404c4bd25015b90824500e936daf6ee7#p122905.
I have had and used the metoview app for some time now and recommend it. Not as flashy visually as things like the tom tom app but gets you where u want to got with voice assist. Accuracy is quite good and will adjust on the move. I use it in conjuction with this arkon mount http://www.calculatorking.com.au/arkon- ... mount.html set up in landscape view, also highly recommended. I paid about $35 delivered for the mount.2000 Prado RV6 ~ TJM Type 15 Steel Bullbar ~ Uniden 400SX-RM & GME4702 Ant ~ Front Tow/Recovery Hooks ~ ARB Recovery Kit ~ ARB CKMP12 Air Compressor ~ DIY Rear Door Trim & Table ~ Extended Diff Breathers ~ Safari Snorkel ~ Wireless Reverse Camera ~ Iron Ox Full Length Roof Rack ~ Looong Wish List ...
