    • Looking good Rob!!! Like to see some closer up shots of the fitment around the side where the bar meets the guard when the light is better. Great result...

      • Will do this Saturday. I will also get some shots of bits that need finishing which will be tackled the week after. For the record, the guy that fitted it is worth a million and changed the standard fitting to the side for a better finish already. It's Darren from Total Traction Tyres in Lonsdale Adelaide.

The last one shows the new steel Hayman Reece towbar to replace the cast iron Yota version. The locking mechanism is far better than the Powerful 4x4 IMO as they cannot rattle around or break as I have seen in some pictures!

As I have said, a wrap around would have been better, but for me this bar is the best of the choices available.

          Cheers

            • How much extra weight on the back end do you think your'e now carrying mlc? Might be time to look at upgrading the Airbags on the Grande?

              • Craig the weight will have no impact at all, indeed it should be abel to carry many tonnes as it is a "transformer in disguise" or so the rear sticker says..... ;-)

                • Looks the goods rob, think you better look into changing the numberplate from 120-D4D, to 120K-D4D Any idea of the weight of the bar?

                  • Nice work Rob, no more dragging the plastic bum on the ground!

dont worry about the extra weight comment, we all know that the hot air from inside the cabin actually lifts the prado nicely...

Look forward to checking it out on sat.
                    cheers.
                    Cheers

I agree. I have planned to head to OL as they stock the "Aribag man products. Some VERY heavy duty upgrade is warrented. Just working out how to get the credit card back from the beloved. She holds that card tighter than the little hobbit holding the ring.

I don't really know. The exisiting air bags appear to cope but I am not sure that I should feel comforted in that. The rig has the weight of the drawers, fridge, slider, 2x spares, rear bar, bash plates, racks, front steal bar and various other extra bits and pieces of recovery gear etc etc. To say nothing of a fat driver!

                            • Looks good Rob. The fit and how the ends are finished off seem the best of any I have seen... It looks like it is actually meant to be there, unlike the Kaymar.
                              Cheers, Damo

Looks good though Rob, bet your pleased with the finish!
