    Skip73's 150 GXL

    Well, it's been a slow start but after 9 months we're slowly making headway:

    It started very small, Toyota Floor mats and seat covers (!!) but have recently installed:

    Toyota Tow Bar
    Mickey Thompson STZ's
    ARB dual battery system (Redarc BCDC1220 + Optima 55a yellow top battery)
    Rhino Rack aluminium tray

    Recently acquired:

    CTek XS 7000 battery charger
    ARB 47L Fridge
    ARB compressor in a box

    Still need to get:

    A bull bar
    Snorkel
    Spotties
    CB

    Getting there!

        It's what arb recommends for their battery tray. It's either that or a century cranking batt.

          I've heard, anecdotally, that optima batteries offer great performance (independent of ARB's advice). I'm keen to see how it performs now. One more sleep until Canarvon!

            Do you have any pics of the tray? I have just order one for my Graphite 150 GXL and am keen to see what it looks like fitted.

                    So far so good. Pretty impressed with the road noise. They Feel confident on the bitumen and dirt tracks. Haven't really pushed them hard yet.

                        Not sure exactly but ARB have placed a '2.15m clearance sticker' on the window. I kind of regret getting this roof rack as I think I should have gone for the Rhino Rack Pioneer series along with heavy duty cross bars. Need to sit down and study the brochure.

                          Ok, that is interesting. I am a little way off getting the roof rack, but quite like the Rhino look.

                          I have seen a few that dont look too high.

                            I rushed my decision without planning what i wanted to do. The most annoying thing is the channel thickness of the sports cross bars are thin so if you want to add an awning, you need to be clever with fixing it and if you wanted to add the heavier foxwing, you'd want the heavey duty cross bars to take the weight. The cross bars are also too short to fit an awning without mucking around with custom brackets.

                              Handheld UHF

                              Hardly the most exciting addition but technically, it's an addition!

                              Uniden UH076SX 5 watt handheld unit, waterproof. Bought two so we use when bushwalking. Comes with a charging base station and external mic (you can see the cable disappearing up the photo).

                              Also bought the Uniden CK078 battery saver/charger - gets power from the car (and hold charge) when when the CB is on and charges when the CB is turned off.

                              External aerial and power from the dual battery still to come but at least I have comms!
