Super job VXWesty.
Great idea regarding the heat shrink. And you are right. The system is low pressure so I too would be surprised if it doesn't hold up. I am going to nick that idea if you dont mind

You should put up a couple of your own specials then......Originally posted by Talktheroo View PostOne beggs to ask the question. So what's your deal and price?
Well, I buy mine from Brisbane Air Cleaner Services at Brendale. Last time I bought one it was $150.00 trade. I also buy some of my Racor filters from there as well.

Not directly, I used 4 rubber isolation mounts. They are mounted to the wheel arch and the compressor mounts to them. I reckon they take a fair amount of the noise and vibration out of the body as you barely notice when the compressor is on from inside the car.Originally posted by gkhaj View PostGreat job vxwesty. Just a question about arb compressor on passenger side. Did you secure it directly to wheel arch?[SIZE=1]2011 Crystal Pearl VX D4D Auto, MT ATZ 4 Rib, Full River 105AH / Redarc SBi12 DBS (TJM Tray), CKMA12 Air Comp, Alpine INA-W910R - PDX-5 - Type-R Speakers, Engel MT60FP, Rhino Alloy Platform, Foxwing Awning, Rear 12V Cig and Engel Socket, ARB Deluxe Combi Bar, Safari Snorkel, LF 240 XGT's + HID Upgrade, HB3 (9005) HID Upgrade, Bilstein / Lovells 2" Lift Suspension, Chip-It, Alpine PKG-RSE2 Roof DVD Monitors, Maxtrax, GME TX3540 + AE409L, Avenger TDS 9.5, ARB UVP, ARB Protection Steps.

I finished my Solar Panel project today and I'm stoked with the end result! It's a 120W panel from Redarc and I made up a few brackets and a frame for storage and roof top use.
First step was a couple of 3mm x 40mm x 40mm aluminium rails supported underneath the Rhino platform rack. There's just enough room for the panel to slide in. a couple of bump stops at the front to limit the panel from sliding too far.

Stainless Steel latches secure the unit once in place and I can add a padlock to keep the scumbags away.

Once on the roof, it fastens in place at the front with a couple of S/Steel hinges and M8 security screws going into Rhino channel nuts. The rear end is supported by a custom bracket shown in the next few pics...Last edited by VXWesty; 24-11-2012, 05:27 PM.[SIZE=1]2011 Crystal Pearl VX D4D Auto, MT ATZ 4 Rib, Full River 105AH / Redarc SBi12 DBS (TJM Tray), CKMA12 Air Comp, Alpine INA-W910R - PDX-5 - Type-R Speakers, Engel MT60FP, Rhino Alloy Platform, Foxwing Awning, Rear 12V Cig and Engel Socket, ARB Deluxe Combi Bar, Safari Snorkel, LF 240 XGT's + HID Upgrade, HB3 (9005) HID Upgrade, Bilstein / Lovells 2" Lift Suspension, Chip-It, Alpine PKG-RSE2 Roof DVD Monitors, Maxtrax, GME TX3540 + AE409L, Avenger TDS 9.5, ARB UVP, ARB Protection Steps.

Rear frame made from 3mm Aluminium angle (25mm) and flat bar (20mm) riveted together.

The rear frame is on a pivot and folds flat under the panel so that I can lower the panel and secure it for travel.
It sits off-centre to make room for my Maxtrax on the right.

Another pic showing the rear frame assembly.

Next pics show the regulator and remote display...[SIZE=1]2011 Crystal Pearl VX D4D Auto, MT ATZ 4 Rib, Full River 105AH / Redarc SBi12 DBS (TJM Tray), CKMA12 Air Comp, Alpine INA-W910R - PDX-5 - Type-R Speakers, Engel MT60FP, Rhino Alloy Platform, Foxwing Awning, Rear 12V Cig and Engel Socket, ARB Deluxe Combi Bar, Safari Snorkel, LF 240 XGT's + HID Upgrade, HB3 (9005) HID Upgrade, Bilstein / Lovells 2" Lift Suspension, Chip-It, Alpine PKG-RSE2 Roof DVD Monitors, Maxtrax, GME TX3540 + AE409L, Avenger TDS 9.5, ARB UVP, ARB Protection Steps.

Finally the remote display for the Redarc regulator flush mounted in the small rear storage door.

Redarc 20 Amp regulator fits perfectly inside the storage compartment and cables are run through the side panel down into the jack storage area where I have coiled up the 5mtr power leads so that I can still park the car in the shade and have the solar panels sitting out in the sun up to 5mtr away.

So far I've maxed it out at 6.9 Amps in full sun, angled at approx 30 degrees. That should be enough to keep the fridge running

Nice vehicle Westy. Given me a few ideas for some mods.
I went for the 15" roof mounted DVD but i like the idea of the two of them on the roof.
