          Hey Matt,
One of the best things I did before heading off down to Tassie recently was to have a boat trimmer mate knock me up an extension to my awning, 2.5 x 3.0 mtrs. I just rivettted a strip of plastic sail track to the outside edge of the awning and the extension just slides on. Has brass eyelets all around so I can pole it out fully or drop it down to give me an extra wall at the front. Came in very handy one night in the Vic High Country when it rained all night. Kept all 3 us dry in our swags.

Matt, I can't tell the difference betweent he first two pics. Is it that the bush on the right in the second image is a little fuller after the siz years?

I'm right in the middle of getting this done. I'm heading into Challenge Campers on Wednesday to get a sail tarp made up that is 2.5x4m.

Dobbo, do you think 3m is long enough or would 4m be a better option? How far apart are the eyelets. I was imagining about 1 every meter would be sufficent.

In hindsight I think 4 metres may have been better as it would have given us a bit more room to move between the swags (specially late at night with a bottle of Cab Merlot on board), as well as being able to drop it right to the ground and peg it (with shock cord loops)
I'm not sure how far apart the side eyelets are, maybe 900mm, but a good idea would be to have them match up with the eyelets on one of those silver tarps or such so you can use the tarp to add another wall for better protection.
As far as carrying the extension, I just rolled it up and tied it to the awning with loops of shock cord and a couple of lengths of venetian blind cord.
Sorry to hijack your thread Matt, please carry on.

I'm glad you reposted your rig matt - definitely looks good. And the ARB bar tops it off!

I too get given heaps for keeping my rig looking schmick, but that doesn't mean it doesn't get used, it just means you give a cr*p.
