I have a leather iPad cover and I just stuck it to the dash with some good quality black Velcro. Easy to attach, easy to remove. I will post a couple of photos when I get home in a couple of days.

I am not looking forward to getting home as I have a bit of damage that I am going to get in trouble for..... The rock sliders saved my ass but still lots of new stripes and bumps.

Dave if u have a look at my build up all of the detail is in their to mount the iPad, also use the picture hanging strips they work better than Velcro.

Those picture hanging strips are the biz. Used them recently putting some stuff up in my son's bedroom. As long as you follow the instructions (such as applying pressure to them to get them to adhere properly, and let the adhesive set before applying weight to them) then they work a treat.

            Mt Useful winter trip 2012

Back from a couple of days in the high country. The weather was not too kind to us with lots of rain, but too warm for the kids to play in snow.

Monday we headed to Rawson and then we headed for the tracks. We started on Trig Tk, then up North East Tk, One Speck Tk and Fultons tk.

Then we headed for Deep Creek No 4 Tk. This as an adventure with no possibility of turning back.

Coming in from the north side was an interesting drop down to the creek

At the creek the last floods had washed away a bit and my rock sliders coped a beating.

This photo was after 30 minutes of track building. With the second vehicle only having standard side steps we knew that major panel damage was on its way without filling the gap that I fell into.

Then off to the Walhalla pub for dinner.

Day 2 and we moved on to Merringtons Tk, Donnelly and then White Star Tk on our way to the top of Mt Useful.

It took a bit to get out of this creek.

Parts of White Star Tk were difficult, but we did notice that my BFG AT 265/65/17’s were not as good as my mates Coopers ST Maxx 265/70/17’s. The size and the tread pattern seemed to help on a number of occasions.

At the top of Mt Useful there was little snow. The kids had a snow fight, but the toboggan stayed fixed to the roof of the car. This photo was from the very top, a location that we could not get to last year.

Overall lots of fun. The winches got a work out on a number of occasions but no snow for the kids.

Wednesday saw some light work around Coopers Creek, but we were not about to get the winches out, so just a light morning.

Here are the photos of the ipad mount.

This is a high quality Velcro. The black does not look out of place either on the ipad or on the dash

The dash when ipad is not installed

                Without dash mat

                With dash mat in place

I thought it might bounce around a bit, but it didn’t. On the road there is no movement and off road it only moved on the roughest of tracks and only then when going really hard. If you are worried about movement you could add another strip at the base of the ipad.

The 3D mats went in today, purchased on eBay. Very happy and even the kids were impressed by how good they fit.

Love the Walhalla and Thompson State Forest areas. Probably my favourite 4wd destination being only 2 hours from home.

We did the Deep Creek tracks a couple of years ago with my then stock Prado. 4 is a ripper track.

Check out the video here if you're interested - http://vimeo.com/18801572.

Also, plenty of other videos from the same area here - www.vimeo.com/samboden.

                    Cheers, Sam.

We know Walhalla is your fav destination Sam as you told us in the latest ARB Magazine :-)

Taking nothing away from your awesome rig Steve, but who owns the white Prado that followed in your footsteps? Are they on PP?

                      If not, why not? Hahaha!

Love the video Sam. It was watching your video in the past that made me want to go down that track. We had problems getting out, but going in July that is to be expected.

The second Prado is owned by a mate who is not a member of PP. We try and do a trip in that area every winter, getting away with the kids. It's the one trip we do that is a blokes only, not counting my 14 year old daughter. That area is a good test of a rig.

Thanks. Still some work to do before I am happy. I should correct that by saying I have always been happy with the Prado, but more to do.

Spent the weekend going over Mt Skene and I am always impressed with how well she goes with other 4wd's. I will try and get some photos up tonight.

                                Recovery Points

Recovery points added today, from Everything4x4. Stamped with WLL(Working Load Limit) 5000kg and the bolts look big enough to support them.

No issues with the ARB bar
