  • Hahahaha.. That pic was taken when the bar was first fabricated and is used for the brochures etc.

Tam had her photo shoot just before Christmas Madkore. Not sure when it will be in the mag though...

We arrived in Kalgoorlie last night at about 9pm. It's raining here which is a pleasant change from the heat of the drive across Aus...

    • Just replaced the dead circuit breaker... It lasted for nearly 5 years.. Replaced it with the same brand (Jaycar) but had to install two as they don't do the big dual sucker anymore. They finally arrived the day we left so I didn't have a chance to install prior to setting out on the trip.

I also replaced the damaged accessory/fridge socket in the back and installed an extra one in the drawers so the fridge cable can be hidden and is now away from potential damage..

      • Done some more work to MUMSRIG whilst on tour... Had the genuine Hilux bonnet scoop laying around for a while now and with the excessive temps we've been experiencing on this trip the decision was made to install it whilst in Perth. Our neighbour packed and posted it and I took MUMSRIG into Vulcan panel and paint in Canning Vale for the fit up.. They did a terrific job and it looks factory.. Also finally installed the Hilux windshield washer jets... Why didn't I do this years ago!! Best mod ever!! Also borrowed Karl's (has a 120 and follows the forum) servo workshop before leaving Kal Friday week ago and fitted a trans cooler and replaced all flexible lines, trans filter and fluid and flushed it, also did the power steer fluid and low pressure lines, top and bottom rad hoses and backflushed the system and replaced with Toyota coolant. Did the timing belt, tensioner, idler and V belts including the idler.. Made it SOO much easier having a hoist and workshop facilities to do the work. Karl went on holidays on the Friday and we bumped into him on the way back to Kal yesterday in Noresman..

        • Wired up the extra LED lightbar I installed on the roof rack yesterday. Took it for a drive last night and I rekon the spotties are going to get thrown in the bin.. What an amazing difference it has made just by adding the extra light bar. Halogen Spots achieve nothing now!!

            • I would like to find some white sikaflex to finish it off nicely under the hood. And in reflection I probably should have asked them to paint the underside of the scoop also.

New 30" LED Light Bar fitted. I was quite surprised that it doesn't reflect onto the bonnet, although when you take a look at the pic below you can see it on the bonnet but you cant when sitting in the seat..

I'm super impressed with the light projection from it. No need for the Halogen Spots any more...

              • Tough as nuts Mitch!

I think you now own the title of 'Rig with most lights' and 'Person most scared of the Dark'.

I like the look of that bonnet scoop too! Got any pics of the rig taken a bit further away with her new scoop? And how much was the total $$$ damage if you don't mind me asking...

With the amount of fill that the LED Light Bars produce I'm thinking that we will remove the two Roo Lites on the top of the bar as they were the roo spotters off to the side previously and are no longer needed.

Here are a couple of pics from the Australia Day Long Weekend in Esperance

                    • What tires are you running and how do you find them for noise on the black top?

                      Cheers

That one lonely jerry can sitting on the roof rack in that configuration almost looks like a shark fin!

Hi there Winston, they are the NITTO TRAILGRAPPLER'S. I posted info on them earlier in the thread. Compared to the Mickey T's they are as quiet as a mouse.. They have performed extremely well on this trip thus far.. Been copping a pounding on the black top and are holding up much better than the Mickeys..
