Knew someone at ARB so got a good price :-)

All good suspension but by all accounts it just comes down to price, availability and whatever you fancy on the day...

Nice one!! Did you go for HD springs in the front, Med rear?? I've got the same front bar as you, but no winch just yet.
Am thinking I'll go HD front, Med rear with polyairs rear also.

The decision regarding suspension setup I've got involves just a $50 difference - Bilstein/lovelles setup being just $50 extra than OME.... hmmm

OME 881 for the front
OME 891 for the rear

I believe these are both Medium.

I'm only 1, don't carry much weight and don't tow so I thought HD would be too harsh...

So fitted AJ120's rock sliders on the weekend ;-)

Had to grind just a bee's di#! off the flat retaining plate that slots into the chassis rail for the LHSR mount to get it in but otherwise went pretty smoothly.

Definitely a 2 person job to align and bolt etc and the U bolts can be trick to align but first class finish and the feel solid as!

The sliders look great. I wish I had some... but go easy on them as the mounting method is questionable. The rear passenger side in particular; it's half bolted onto the lower control arm bracket, which is already a known weakness. I'm currently looking into ways to increase the strength of that very spot.

Next addition, underbody protection from Brown Davis;



I wanted one with an oil drian access plate which they didn't have for the 90 series so I took it in for them to measure up and now I have the access plate ;-)

So if you have a 90 series and want a bash plate with an access plate for the oil drain plug, they should now be able to provide!

with regards to the bash plate, would you mind if you take some pics of it the next time you take it off? going to need it as an example to show the machine shop how it should look like. would like something like that for my prado too.

Not planning on taking it off anytime soon as I had Brown Davis put in an access plate for changing the oil.

They didn't have a template for the 95 series before so I got a good deal as they used mine to measure up and then I had to go back for fitting.

If you want one with an access plate then I can recommend Brown Davis ;-)

Dual Battery & Fridge

So have finally finished my dual battery and fridge install.


It turned out to be quite a job on the 90 series as you have to relocate a black canister to the opposite side of the engine bay to make room for the Piranah battery tray (BTPRA4C)


Here is the space for the tray with the black canister removed;





This is the mount for the canister relocated to the drivers side;





Tray installed with wiring and tubing re-routed to drivers side for canister;





The Redarc SBi12 isolator we mounted just next to the 2nd battery;

Removed the door trim and ran the cable to the rear cargo area for the Merit plug;








Also installed a National Luna dual batter monitor and mounted it to the dash with velcro;





Override switch and LED light installed over by the dash dimmer;

I bolted a sheet of form ply to the cargo floor using the existing tie-down bolt holes and then bolted the fridge slide to the ply;





Used a bit of no-slip rubber I had laying around to cover the bolts and stop gear sliding around;





Time for cold beer I think!
