Always thought about installing a cam in the front for the times you approach a crest and want to know whats lurking down in front of the car (rocks, logs, "really scarey bits" etc...) Like you Michael the slot in the Bar would probably be the most likely location.

Was driving at Mount Mee today coming down a decline with a couple of large bumps which I lost view of over the bonnet. I turned the front camera on and was able to see just in front of the car. For me it's a great usable addition and with the 8" screen you can see heaps.

        Hi Brains,

Do you know if it would be possible to add a front camera onto the standard GXL Headunit. I'm very interested in this Mod.

With a bit of wiring I think you would be able to using the post on switching your reverse camera and maybe using a video switch. Anything is possible.

Thanks fourbyfour, try to keep everything neat and factory looking. Makes it easy when you can buy the Camera shroud from Toyota then just pop riveted it in place once I had mounted the camera.

I've had a few requests for photos of the wet seats so here they are.

Hi Paul, Just a quick question. Are you still happy with your Ironman suspension and has it sagged at all yet? Also how many KMs have you done on it roughly? I am considering this setup for mine based on the price. Seems to be pretty good value.

                      Paul....

Just had a quick look through your post and the section where u removed the centre console causght my attention. I've been wanting to remove the top cover to access the wiring for the Cig Lighter but was never game enough in case I broke something.... I might have to come over sometime and get u to give me a few pointers on how to remove the cover plate

Looks the goods. Love the Black when clean but in the elements.

                            Which rooftop tent is that?

Very true about keeping the black clean.

                              Tent is the TJM Yulara.

I used a front camera shroud from the Kakadu through Toyota and a front camera from eBay. All up cost around $40 for the two items.

It's connected to the replacement Head Unit from Extreme Electronics. To get the front camera to show you just press the F-Cam button. To turn it off you press the button again. The camera gets a power feed from the head unit which only powers the camera when the button is pressed.

                                Hey brains

What camera did you use? And was there any additional wiring?

                                Thanks mate
