  • Bang for your Buck - 90 Series build

I have recently got back into 4WD ownership with the idea of taking my new daughter out and about in the bush. After a lot of home work and a long search I found a very well looked after 98 2.7lt RV in fantastic original condition. I am on a budget and all the work has been done by myself (excpet the vehicle service) and I have no trade background. What has been done so far and approx prices, mostly bought of ebay:
    1. Prado 6inch alloy wheels and new Hankook tyres (rims $225, Tyres $800)
    2. Winch (13000lb, Dynema) winch mounting plate ($500)
    3. Dual Battery System (tray, Isolator, battery, Fuse box, power outlet)($300)
    4. 6 CD and Bluetooth (genuine Toyota out of 2008 Prado)($225)
    5. Reverse Camera and screen)($48) (bargin)
    6. Compressor, under bonet mount ($50)
    7. Rear door Table ($80)
    8. I have bought recovery gear (snatch strap, shackles, shovel, gloves)

There is going to be more to do, I am sure, but this should get me out on the road to get off the road. Thanks to all the Pradopoint members who post there ideas for other to get ideas from.

Btw - Is your vehicle an import as you dont have the sub-tank gauge / different clock?

Hi Easy Company, NO it's not an import, the 2.7lt didn't come with a sub tank standard as the economy is a little better than the V6 which is why i went down that path, Thanks Ian

                Hi Wooley,
Thanks, I agree the 2.7 was a very good suprise when I test drove it and it is a plesure to drive (and fill up). If I was ever going to tow a large load, I may have looked at the V6 but I am very happy with it.
