Note : I have had my lifted Prado, fitted with better tyres; up to alot higher speeds than you would imagine and it handled great. Flat and hard..

On a private, closed road of course.
I'm more concerned with the rough stuff... too much height has seen two of my previous club members roll over in the same spot on the same day.. one was a 40 series that had done the leaf over conversion and was ridiculously high, the other was a GQ with 6 inch lift, just toppled on to its side.

agreed.. if you go much more than 30-40mm at the front (after it settles) you are changing the front suspension geometry too much. You arnt benifiting much from it either, as you are limiting the downward travel of the front suspension.

                      • Hi all, this is the wife's car, ok I know what your thinking. Trust me id rather be driving it too offroad, although it needs some lift in the front end.

My car is the Vitara, its got heaps more clearence and I know its limits. Something I hav'nt worked out in the Prado. But the Prado tows the Cub camper heaps better.

Ok I know this is a Prado forum so heres what is got, 100l LPG tank, cargo barrier, dual batteries, hi-lift jack suitable steel side steps, factory alloy bull bar, OME shocks allround but needs a coil spring upgrade, dark tinted windows, roof racks and BFG All-Terrains are its boots. This Prado has a range of 1380klms off the 3 tanks.

97 Vitara 1.6 JX Day Tripper(550klms range), 98 Prado V6 LPG GXL for Touring (1400klms range), Offroad Cub Camper for Overnight.
