Seems to be a few ex Subie drivers on here!!!

I've had a worked RS Liberty aswell and also had a GT Forester Lux pack..

I actually did my apprenticeship at Regal Motors (when RS Lib's were new) back in the days when it was across from the Green Roof Tavern and not next to the railway as it is now.

Can you post a close up pick of your fairlead & hook setup?

Here's a close up pic as you asked. I bought the fairlead from Piranha here in Melbourne a year or so back. It fits into the ARB bar quite neatly.

Thanks and nice work, when the rope is to the extreme left, right or top does it rub on the bar? How level does the rope come off the winch and our of the fairlead?

When the drum is full, the rope feeds out from slightly below the level of the slot. By the time the rope is fed out to pulling lengths, the feed is level or just above the slot in the fairlead.

The fairlead is pretty thick, so the steel of the bullbar only sits about 2-3mm out from the face of the fairlead. Rubbing should not be a problem at even very extreme angles, unless the car is nose down and the rope has to feed upwards where it could rub on the protruding bullar over the top of the fairlead. It would have to be a pretty decent angle though.

              • Finally yesterday, after 6 months worth of wait, my Green 2008 Prado Standard has arrived!!
My first task is to get a set of decent wheels and rubber, and thanks to this forum I know exactly what to get! Been meaning to chase up a quote today, but was just too busy test driving it!! :-D!! A genuinely nice drive! A definite step up in every way from my previous Jeep Cherokee. Next month I will probably get a ARB Deluxe or Sahara bull bar, and then hopefully month after that, a set of Air Lockers…
