Hi there, thought i would start and join in with the forum as this is my second Prado and find this forum of great value. I have had my prado for about a year now and have done a couple little mods which i will post gradually as i go but for starters i have had a ARB bull bar installed just the other week with a snorkel as well. Well to add to the last post after i had picked up the car from ARB i noticed a rattle near the snorkel on the way home.

Once home i gave the snorkel a hard bang and a big washer fell out of the guard at the bottom so i began to take off

the inner guard and found a washer and nut missing and 3 of the other nuts loose. So to find this i was not happy and

rang ARB the next day to hear them say they are sorry did i have a nut to replace it and he will talk to the guys that

worked on it and that a report would be done.







After I had the car for a little while i started to get the itch so I began to start on the build up. I had all the equip to

do a dual battery install thanks to the hand-break spoiling me with a Autron system with monitor for me birthday.


The monitor that came with the dual battery system couldn't be installed until aquired the facia kit to move the stereo up top and a compartment below where i put the monitor and cb and spot lights switch.

Had a couple free hours last weekend so i thought i would tackle the aux battery fuse box install. When plaining the

install i choose over near the fuel filter as i wanted it to be on the side and there was no room on the other side from

the dual battery system. Once i found a spot i ran 8 gauge wire across to give the fuse box a main feed. The only

thing i have wired up so far is the CB but will have Air compressor and a couple other mods. Its a 8 fuse - fuse box

which i was going to run a fridge socket and roof lights off but i will install another fuse box in the rear of the car and

down size the front one to a 4 fuse blade box and a 4 fuse blade box in the rear.

When i installed the Narva 225 HID which i bought from the 4by show the other month for $550 which he threw in a pair of Oricom UHF2180 hand held radios. After i got home from picking up my car at ARB I bolted up the lights and found a spot to put the relay and weather proof fuse.

When installing the UHF i found a spot just in front of the gear stick on the floor under the centre console. Its a small spot but with the unit having all the controls on the hand piece the the other half is very small, I haven't grabbed an ariel yet so i will need to

open it all up again so will take some pics of it position when I do it.

With all these acc and mods pls feel free to ask any questions as my details might fall a bit short as i'm not that bigger typer as most here but am more then happy to give more photos or info that I can on any specific topic.

Hey yeh it did mate but down the bottom. I will be moving up top but I can't use the orig one because it's sort of moulded and won't work up top.

so you removed it completely and replaced it with GX parts?

hey wooley, yeh i removed the top section and bottom stereo and replaced GXL stereo with GX plastic compartment and the GXL reverse camera with the info display with a 7in screen stereo once i get the funds up
