Mate, well done to you... im just so glad the exhaust maifold didnt have to come out... great to meet you and im sure its the first of many days doing mods together...

The first thing i would do if i were to do that job would be to get an oxy aceteline blow torxh and get the nuts red hot... if that was no good you could just about oxy cut them off and remove the studs with vise grips... its the nuts that lock on hard not the studs...

Top work mate we saved heaps of dosh by not paying someone to fix it for us!

        Top story there Ghost!

Not only a great outcome, but having a fellow PPer (whom you had not met before - correct?) go above and beyond the call of duty is inspirational.

        Well done fellas!

Just out of curiousity - how does she sound now?

Hey madcore, drew and I had spoken a couple of times before but never had a chance to actually catch up, so really never had a chance to meet, it's an incredible thing and another reason I love PP, like minded people willing to help someone else out at a drop of a hat, especially a person whom he has never met before,

In regards how she sounds, she has a nice little burble now, you can hear it slightly more at 100k but nothing harsh. Certainly makes her breath better, still not a massive difference in my books, but have heard it can take a little for the ecu to catch up.

Been ticking a couple of more mods off my list.

Since lifting the big girl i have noticed that the rear bumper has been getting hit more with stones etc. so i had been looking around for some sufficient rubber to lower the mud flaps. after looking everywere i ended up picking a pair up from supercheap auto on saturday while they had their 20% off sale.$22 well spent. they are 280w by 320 long. they fit perfectly infront of the existing mud flaps and instead of using the smaller 6mm x 20mm bolts they supplied i picked up some 8mm x 25mm high tensile units that fit nice and snugly though the existing holes in the new mudflaps.

I also used 3 x 3/16 washers and 1 3/16 sprinf washer to help disperse the force of the mudflap. to help even more i put lock tight on each bolt.

here is the end result. they have a good flex but lower the mudflaps sufficiently to stop the bumper copping a flogging..

Last night i also got to finish another job that i had been procastinating about.... never like drilling it to my car!!....

the weather was crud, so perfect oportunity to get this one ticked off the list..the rear fold down table...

i have had the parts for the better part of a month, but hadnt got around to starting anything. about a week ago, i thought it was the best time to start.

i think it has come up mint and like anything i do i like it to not look cheap and nasty....

I used alloy l facing for each edge of the table. this provides two things, one more protection for the table and two helps hide the table carpet join. i wont go into detail on how it was made as many have done it. mine is just a little different.

and ofcourse i had my other half helping me this time which proved good as she was also able to give some advice on what looks better haha!!

here is the finished product... might have cost me close to what i could have brought one for but. i love tinkering...

Have just finished reading your thread, great work. Looks like you've been doing some good work to the "big girl".
Any new additions? Mate was working up your way about 18 months ago at Hay Point. Unfortunately was only there for 2 weeks then had to go back to the West Coast, but loved the Barra fishing on night shift at the Highwater tug pens. Looks like may be back up that way in 2014 to the Cape maybe.

                Regards Adam

Had been a bit worried about drilling holes in my bus too, so it took me a long time to bite the bullet and actually install the fold down table. Very glad I've done it now.

Hey Adam, sorry mate only just seen this reply, na things have been fairly quiet, saving my pennies at the moment, just brought a unit in mackay. Plus the mining game isn't so solid, so can't justify the real unnecessary spends, unfortunately. Yea would love to do the cape, :-)

Thanks fido, I'm a bit of a perfectionist, wanted it to match the drawers I was getting, but then had to cancel the order for the drawers,

                                Forgot a couple of additions,

Brought Mackayvx's old roof bars off his prado, and brought the max tray mounting pins so I can actually mount the max trax properly,

Running out of room in the garage!

Also purchased One of the mighty AMTS's tyre spacer, the pics don't do it justice, very, very well made, and I'm glad I got it, the plastic thingy was rubbing on the paintwork of the door and starting to wear through.
