... well it's the start of what I hope is a very beautiful Relationship (the Prado... not he fiance' , pretty much already stuck with her...)



The new Blue Storm VX Prado has finally arrived, and like a whole lotta other guys on here, I have had plenty of time to wander through all of the build threads on Pradopoint gathering more ideas than I know what to do with on how this thing is going to get built. Now that I actually have the car in front of me and no longer have to guess how things will look and work, I can start locking a few things down and get the ball rolling.

I'll do my best to get the progress up here, so hopefully I can contribute as much as I have benefited from everyone else's build threads... just a little bit excited, just quietly!

The Plan is to gear it up as a capable Off Roader, but more orientated towards Bullit Proof Touring. I'm not that interested in extreme 4WDing like climbing up / over / around / through difficult terrain just for the sake of it... unless it is between me and somewhere I want to go. We want to spend some decent time in the center, with a Trip to the Finke Desert Race in June next year (see the trips Section on here) being the first trip, and the CSR (Canning Stock Route) and a couple of other epic tours on the list to do. Add to this I need a vehicle to drag the Race Car around with. Between the better half and I we own 2 Bikes and 2 utes.... none of which are going anywhere anytime soon, so this will also become the family wagon too.

This Vehicle will have to wear many hats, and is going to get used a hell of a lot. I only plan on doing this once, so it's getting done well!

The Mods List.

As I said earlier, now that I have the Car in front of me inveriably some of my plan will change. I'm also not brand specific, mearly go for what I think looks and functions best. I'm very open to ideas guys, and as I go I will most certainly be hitting you guys up for advice on the best way to go in many areas.

.... and as for the Fiance'... I bought the Car, and she is Funding all the Mods (the benefit of us both working in Construction together, she isn't wearing Hi Vis Fluro in the Photo coz it's trendy!), we are looking at about $30K at this stage... YES she is and absolute Gem, and NO she is mine you can't have her!!!

Does your car have KDSS? if so mine is lifted with Bilsteins and Lovells if you ever want a drive and the wool seat covers I highly recommend are prestige sheepskin in malaga they just did my fronts and VERY happy.(pictures in my buildup thread)

I might take you up on that KAKADAZ, Shiv and I fly home (to Perth) next Wednesday night (12/10) for a few days for a couple of weddings, back out Monday morning. Hey People... was crawling in traffic towards the Bathurst 1000 Carpack (read "Mud Bowl Play Pen for Prados!) and have discovered just how anoying it is that the DVD cuts out as soon as the handbrake is off and/or the car moves quicker than like 2kph. I'm on the hunt for a workaround for this and perhaps the option of flicking the reverse camera on when not in reverse at the same time. I remember reading a build thread about this very thing, but I can't rmember who's it was, and if it was for 120s or 150s...

Thats the Reverse Camera Info sorted... does anyone know which are the Input Wires for the Handbrake and Speed plugging into the back of the VX Nav Pack Screens (Same as the Kakadus) that control when the DVD Screen is Active/Deactivated?
