Here are some photos of additions to my rig. There are not a lot of changes as the rig is for towing and touring. It will go off road but no extreme stuff.
The bulbar is a Smartbar. It is much lighter than the steel bar and looks much better. I did a lot of research on the Smartbar and am satisfied that it will do the
Job.
The radio is a GME TX3340. It is fitted under the centre consol. I piggybacked the 12v supply to the car audio for the power supply. The microphone holder is bolted to the plastic trim. I made up some plastic wedges so that the nuts would sit flat against the back of the trim.
The second battery has been installed using a genuine Toyota bracket and tray. I had to move the AC hose about 30mm to the right. I bolted short piece of aluminium angle to the side of the battery support to bolt the AC pipe using the existing bracket and bolt that was on the AC hose.
I installed a 50A circuit breaker and Redarc battery controller behind the air filter box. There are two Anderson plugs one next to the trailer plug and the other in the boot to run the fridge. Rather than drill holes in the boot the second plug is on a lead and is stored in the compartment with the jack when not in use.
The caravan brake controller can be seen just to the right of the microphone. I had to mount it a little high due to the knee airbags. The top of it is about level with the down hill control switch but not high enough to impede access.
Some of these ideas have come from members post in this forum. And I would never have been able to pull the consol apart without your valuable information. So I would like to thank all the members for their contributions.
Kind Regards
Sid
