    Headlight Restoration

Brought a Headlight Restoration kit a while ago and thought I'd finally give it a go

Seemed pretty straight forward to do so this is what they looked like to start with

and this was the end result

I only did it by hand, the box says about using a buff to get good result, but to honest I was pretty happy with it anyway.

    Regards Adam

      Nice job Adam
The old 03 headlights have got the yellow haze and craze look about them.
Will put it on the to-do list.
      Cheers

Hey Adam, does it say how often you have to redo the whole process or is it a one off thing?

It's a one off. The thing that's annoying is there's plenty left but only one finish off sealant wipe. My car has been hit down the side so might be looking at a rear bar as a replacement. Will work it out when I get home.

I used this same kit about a year ago and just redid them again on the weekend as they were starting to go crappy again, good old toyota headlights always seem to do this. However the kit is good and it doesn't take long so worth doing it annually. Plenty in the kit to redo it a few times too.

I heard an urban myth that toothpaste works well on the headlights?

Adam, have you considered an AJ rear? (Not his per se, Trish may have a say in that, but one of his dual wheel adaptable versions?

Yes Rob but with an outboard bracket on the passengers side. Also considering a 200 Series as I have just spent $2500 replacing the fuel rail and injector lines. I think I'm a bit over it.

yeah I've heard that too, any car polish will work if you just put the polish on and buff it out they come up a treat, but nothing is permanent.
