  • KC's Prado 150 LC5 European specs build up thread

First let me say Greeting from Thailand and how glad I am to be here.

I purchased Prado LC150 somewhere backed in August here in Thailand. The car was imported from somewhere in Europe and already come fitted with dual batteries, front and rear cameras as well as side cameras. This car probably closely related to the kakadu model in Australia.

Anyway just adding more photos to the collectives.

    Mod so far:

    Accessories:
    Arb Deluxe Bull bar
    Warn 9.5XP winch
    Dual Light Force spot lights

    OME 887 Springs
    OME 90010 Nitrocharger struts
    Rear -
    Stock OEM.

Last month Bangkok was heavily flooded. Water level in some part of Bangkok was as high as 2m and it stays for more than a month.

Unimaginable as it was, it happened. Luckily the ground of my house was raised somewhat 1m higher than the road but even that the water level inside the fence was at least knee level.

Here is a picture of my Prado parked next to my boat. Using hi-lift jack, I managed to bricks under all four wheels to keep it above the water.

      G'day,
Welcome to PradoPoint. Smart idea with the bricks, but I bet your glad it did'nt get much higher. Nice Prado.
I must admit that the idea of touring around Thailand in a 4x4 apeals to me.

Nice ride Kcharng. looking at the last pic, I take it that the rear door swings up instead of out? Does the rear window have separate hinges also?

As I got told in Thailand about a month ago if you own a Prado you must be, "the big boss!"

Thank you for the warm welcome. To answer a few question, the rear door does not swing upwards but sideways similar to Kakadu model.

And no not really a BIG boss just regular business owner.

Touring around Thailand is great. All the parks and sight seeing spots are quite close by compare to my experience in Perth, Western Australia.

Prado, Range Rover, Land Cruisers are used more as a city cars because of the price, size and weight. These cars are not well suited for extreme off road in Thailand due to deep muddy condition of the tracks and the width of the tracks which is generally quite narrow.

Today I took the plunge and use the washer methods to increase the rear airbags. I am glad I did. I use 10mm washers on both side of the rear suspension sensor plate that was connected to the chassis. And now the car is level.

The ride back from the mechanics was night and days. Apparently the rear of my prado was bottoming out, evident by looking
at the mark left by the rubber cushion hitting the rear axle.

Part of the reasons for bottoming out was the increase height of the front suspensions and misadjusting the rear airbags
              sensors.

I no longer have problems with OME shocks or springs. The ride comfort was more than acceptable.

              Cheers.

I know it is not perfect, but hell of a lot better than before.
