Will do Jeff. Shall have a few days cruising the coast to get a feel for the module. Then a 700 km haul home towing my camper trailer. I reckon that will give me a good feel for the setup..

Engine power up today

Went to visit John @ the diesel center in southport today. He fitted up the Steinbauer in about an hour, taking the time to use split tube to protect the signal line that goes across the back of the ening bay and thru the firewall, down to the throttle pedal. First drive with the fine tune set on 2 was great and it went great. I recommend John his number is 07 5532 5427 in the Goldcoast.

From there I went down Southport exhaust center and spoke to Wayne. He was very helpful and advised a Redback H743MN turbo muffler for what I wanted. Once again I was in luck and the blokes at the exhaust center where great to deal with. If you are in the Goldcoast area, I highly recommend the Southport Exhaust center on 07 5532 4707. After playing with the fine tune control, I have the unit set on 4.

It really pulls hard (like Samo) and I am very happy with the result, so far. I have a 700km haul home on Saturday pulling a camper, so we shall see how it goes. Also, with the muffler on, it is a quite as a lamb.

A bit of feedback about the exhaust and power module set up. With the snorkel and the free flowing muffler I have been able to wind the fine tune up to level four. The drive is nice and predictable, I am yet to tow with the set up, but I am thinking it will eat the weight up. Down low, puttering about with the family on board, the engine is strong from 1200 rpm onwards, when I quote 1200 rpm, I mean this rpm in 5th around town, going around roundabouts nice and steady. When I put my boot into it off a round about, it pulls nice and hard. Flick it up into 6th and the same level of push back into the seat is the result.

My fuel use seems the same when not towing. It's sitting about 10.1 litres per hundred around town, averaging 48 kph off the dash gauge. I know this reads about half a litre low on my car, but generally it's the same as before the module and exhaust, but now with heaps more torque.

Anyhow that's how it's going and how I have my Prado set up for now. Will see how it goes on the weekend with a tonne behind it for 700 km up thru the ranges.

Great update matt looking forward to hear how it goes on a long trip. I like the idea of replacing only the muffler as I did the 3in sterling exhaust on the D4D hilux and I did not like the noise increase. So to get a performance boost without noise will be nice.

Travelling today. Been on the road since 0430am.

Four seasons ! Fog, heavy rain, cold and now sunny and hot ! Travelled from Tweed Heads, across to Tenterfield and back down thu Tammworth to the hunter valley. About three hours drive to go.

Prado is awesum with the Steinbauer and the exhaust. Loaded with three kids, two adults, all the holiday crap and a tonne of camper.. See the dash reading below now we are in Armidale.

Ya need to add another half a litre per hundred to get to the real fuel burn in my car, but still brilliant !
