Paul's actuator guard arrived today and was a breeze to fit up....

Excellent Matt, great photos of the guard. Hope it gives you piece of mind when you get all those new looking bits dirty.

At 2000 km I just did my first oil change (because I wanted to) and I am abit shocked. When I drained the Toyota supplied oil from the sump I thought it was pretty heavy and didn't take much more notice. I changed the filter and refilled the sump with Castrol Magnatec Diesel oil.

I took it for a drive this morning, and after it warmed up the engine seems to have really come alive. Very impressed and I guess some of the comments I have read about these engines going better after the 'first' service starts to make sense. I think the engine oil from new is a heavier running in grade of oil.

Pretty happy with the performance at the moment..

Thanks Pradi. Been busy sorting things out. Picking up my 2008 lifestyle 360i camper from Brisbane in about a week. It's ready to haul it back now.

Will do Jeff. Shall have a few days cruising the coast to get a feel for the module. Then a 700 km haul home towing my camper trailer. I reckon that will give me a good feel for the setup..

Have the same Silver Prado have only got a tunit chip on it at the moment though which has been amazing no troubles so far done 3000kms, and get my ARB deluxe winch bar, the gensis, toughdog lift kit, snorkel and exhaust at the end of the month have already ordered the wetseats and sandgrabbas after seeing how awesome they look on your prado thanks for the pictures mate keep it up.

Would love to know what you think of the tough-dog suspension after you have had a good run in it

Hi Scott

Havent had it off road much yet. On the road it goes well for the money, the handling is predictable and the shocks soak up bumps well. I have used the same suspension off road in a work hilux for many years and it's great. Something I need to do us order a pair of adjustable swaybar links to correct the angle of the rear sway bar, now it's been lifted. I will source them from superior engineering and they are around $100 a pair.

Picked up my 2008 Lifestyle 360i camper today and towed it 130km back to where we are staying. Well you do know it's behind you, but you can forget its there ! Bloody rides well behind the Prado, ya got to love independent suspension. It's hauling good and after my little projects planned for Monday, it will haul alot harder.
