Hi fido,
the TJM store organised for the panel fills to be matched and painted and fitted when the bar was fitted. I was under the impression that they are supplied with the bar as TJM just remove the whole front bumper and don't actually use it? Who fitted your bar?

The Altitude model was released earlier this year as a special edition, basically a GXL with additional features found on the VX and Kakadu models, such as front parking assist, leather seats, rear entertainment system, sat nav, sun roof etc.

Hi Aido,

My bullbar came already fitted, I bought the Kakadu 2nd-hand via a large Toyota dealership but it was fitted by the previous owner. Sounds like the Altitude was a good buy, only thing that put me off the GXL was how much it would have cost to add all the fruit that came on our Kakadu.

Well its been a little while since my last post. My new set of Drifta Draws turned up the other day (Car back Combo), install was really easy, especially removing the rear seats due to numerous info on here! Thanks again everyone.

Really happy with the finish and can't wait to put them to use.

I installed a new half cargo barrier, (will be selling the full size cargo barrier) and as you can see in the picture i've just got the drop slide to do when i have a bit more time.

Aido, your drawers look very neat, how high are they overall? They look reasonably high and which half barrier is that? I'm just trying to sort out my design.

The cargo barrier is from Off Road Systems, made for the 150 series, as far as i know its not custom made, unless Drifta had one designed to fit their draw system?? It doesn't mount to the draws, just the top grab handles in the third row and the lower grab handles behind the second row seats. Was very easy to install, unlike my previous Milford one which i had to have fitted as it required drilling into the body. The ORS one isn't as quick to remove though, but i'm unlikely to be removing it much.

I think the draws about 300 high which gives me about 630 from the top of the draws.

Thanks for the info Aido, I think ORS also have a stainess water tank which fits underneath their half barrier. I think it wasn't cheap from memory, but you get what you pay or I suppose. I just re looked at your photo and realised its a car back combo that's why it's a bit higher. looks the goods though, have you tried it out yet?

Hi all,
finally picked up the fridge and got around to installing the drop slide. Pretty easy to install, impressive bit of gear, but suprised at how heavy the slide itself is, guess it needs to be to support that weight?

also just got added Craig's TraxRax, great product!


Also got a replacement LED globe kit from the LED Lad and changed all the factory globes over. By far much better lighting for the interior. So its getting there, last major addition will be the Kaymar rear bar, before i hit the Anne Beadell Hwy in August.

Had the last of the major modifications completed this week, added the Kaymar rear bar with twin wheel carriers! Happy with the end result, stayed with the black coloured bar given the bull bar is the same colour, I thought if i had had it colour coded silver, it just wouldn't look right IMO?

I intend taking the wheel carriers off when not doing the trip thing! So I had the installer add connections in the wiring looms so i could remove each carrier. I will put the spare wheel bracket back on for use around town, well thats my intention anyway, we'll see how long it last until i get sick of changing it all over?

I'm thinking to upgrade my 120 series if/when Toyota bring out another Altitude. Looking back, are there any factory options you wish you had added? The Altitude seems to come very well optioned.

Hi all,
wow were does the time go. Thought i might add to this thread, i've adding a few mods of late so time for an update. Firstly I've added the Redarc Tow Pro and ran a Anderson Plug to the rear bar earlier in preparation for the camper trailer. Pretty easy install, sorry didn't grab any photo's.

Had a knocking sound coming from the drivers front side suspension, turns out i had a faulty valve. So i replaced the old stuff with Koni HT Raid's and King Springs, pretty impressed with the set up, the only thing i'm not sold on completely yet is the HD Springs in the rear. I'm going to see how it goes on our trip to the GTG in Tassie in a couple of weeks.

This week the Brown Davis under guards arrived. Whilst they are easy to install, i found that the front guard didn't fit without removing the plate from under my T13 bull bar. So i took this plate off and fitted the BD guard.
Whilst the BD guard is a nice fit, i wasn't happy with the exposed radiator stuff on the side.
To correct this i decided i would take an angle grinder to the plate i removed from the bull bar and cut out a piece so it would fit with the Brown Davis guard.

I measured from the existing plate to the edge of the BD guard, repeated this on the other side and then cut the piece required out of the middle bottom edge of the plate.
The finished product.


From there it was just a case of bolting it back into place, and you can see the difference in added protection this plate offers.Job done!
