    Couple of pics of the secondary fuel filter with water bowl. Pretty straight forward install but had to make a bracket and move the wiring harness on the firewall to accommodate the size of the Donaldson setup. Only hard part was getting the old clips off the factory fuel lines. Install can be done without filling up the filter with diesel but you will have to prime the hell out of the fuel lines. Make sure you lubricate the top 'O' ring of the new filter with a bit of diesel when disconnecting the old lines.

        Electronic rust prevention installed. Not sure if its going to work but I found an 8 point system for $170 so I thought id give it a try, cant hurt I rekon. Kit was pretty straight forward, just time consuming running the wires and covering with flexi tube. I have a large tub of Lanotech that will go over the rig once all the suspension is in and i can crawl under teh car again!

          Picked up some Maxtrax this arvo. Was planning on making up a bracket to carry them under the roof rack but due to the curve of the roof there was no room without rubbing. Instead I just went with the old ocky strap method up on top. Ill look at buying some padlocks to secure them to the rack when leaving it by itself.

          After walking out from the shop, I decided to do a little shake down run and see how the fuel figures stack up with the scanguage. Drove her through Kelmscott/ stop start driving max 70kmhr, then up through Brookton Hwy and out to Bodington/ Hwy driving at 105kmhr. With all the slowing down and then overtaking of slower vehicles, sitting in 5th gear then 6th and then both again in cruise I was very surprised that she was returning an average of 12ltr per 100km. Brookton Hwy is like a country road with allot of variety with bends, crests and straights. The rig still pulls hard when you put the boot in to overtake and I was vary happy that she still has the get up and go when I want it.

          Found a little logging track on the way back and punted her around the corrugations, ruts and wash outs to find any squeaks, rattles etc. and to also make sure all the brackets and fasteners ive installed for the various mods are up to the task. Happy to report that everything lived up to expectation, even the DIY flairs did the trick fending off the mud. Other than some loose wheel arch plastic that needs to be screwed back into place she survived her first little outing with all the new weight. Only downside to today was that mid way home the factory cd player stopped working and threw back ERROR 1??? tried different cd's but still the same result. Anyone had this? Im suspecting its telling me im due for a new head unit.......it never seems to end!

              Knocked up a rear work light that comes off the tyre swing arm. Light cost me $18 and the pre made harness and switch $25. bracket is made out of square tube steel and is adjustable up and down/ left and right with a basic bolt clap into a round shaft.

                Excellent workmanship there Dueler.

                The PVC rod holder - did you use 90 or 100mm pipe? And where did you get the clamps from - it looks like you have some rubber or something insulating the pipe for vibrations - very nice idea for graphite rods!

                  Hey Madkore,
                  Pipe is 100mm and fits 3 rods pretty easy. The clamps were from the plumbing store and you can see them here; http://www.reece.com.au/hvacr/produc...er_lined_clips. I remember seeing them on another rig on here (forgett who) and thought that it would be a good idea. I wanted stainless but they told me that they would need to be specially ordered in. Instead, the clamps have had a coating of rust preventative white paint as well as the pvc. It will get another coat in a few days when I get the car back.

                  Cheers,

                    Bolted on the beach rod holder, plumbed up the 60ltr water tank and ditched the old rubber mats for Sandgrabbers front and back. Just dropped the rig off at the shop to get her OME and bags fitted. Cant wait to see how it turns out this arvo!

                      Well the lift is finally in! Ive been waiting for this stage from the start of the build and im very impressed with the result. Thanks to the boys down at Coastal 4x4 I have the following setup;
                      OME front coils 60-120kg's
                      OME Nitrocharger sport front struts
                      OME rear coils 150-400kg's
                      OME Nitrocharger sport rear shocks
                      Shock stoneguards
                      Poly Air 2" rear bags

                      Heights before lift;
                      (measured from bottom of rim through centre of hub to edge of guard)
                      RF - 730mm
                      LF- 725mm
                      LR - 730mm
                      RR- 735mm

                      After Lift:
                      RF - 790mm
                      LF - 785mm
                      LR - 830mm
                      RR- 830mm

                      I have rubber fenders so they are not the straightest thing to measure against but for the purpose of the exercise I measured to the same points to make it as consistent as possible. It goes to show how much the rear sank with all the bar work and tent. Overall I could not be happier with the end result. I have to take it back for another height check after 500k's to complete the warranty and then a wheel alignment as it should have settled enough by then.

                        Looking better now with the lift mate, but that jack looks like it sticks out the back a fair bit or is it just the angle of the photo ?

                          Yeah mate the jack bracket is ment to have a tyre in the middle of it so it sticks out like a sore thumb at the moment.

                                I like those sliders too - were they through Coastal? They look like what Mumsrig had on his rig.
