While spraying short bursts before the turbo I noticed the engine rev out each time. When I sprayed it directly into the butterfly then reconnected the intercooler and started the engine it was hesitant to turn over but when it did there was noticeable smoke from the exhaust. The smoke cleared in seconds and everything went back to normal.

I did take it for a spin and have to say there is a slight difference in the throttle response. More so evident when taking off from a standing start, but there is improvement. I did not expect a drastic change as my intake was fairly clear before the cleaning spray application. I will add it to the servicing regime as I believe it will have more of an effect over a longer sustained application.Once It was run around the block a few times I cooled the engine and dropped the oil and ran some diesel conditioner through the fuel tank.,
Intake cleaner is something I think of using every now and then. Might have to investigate it a little more (and actually give it a go).

        • Hi mate,
Sorted the sliders out, the brackets were a little too close to one of the ribs on the body so just the movement hit the slider bracket and made noise. Solution cut 45 degree cut from top of bracket for more clearance and POOF!!! no more dramas. Yep still have the patrol too, it sits for long periods too so I mounted an anderson plug on the bullbar and run a lead to a charger in the shed so its always ready when I do use it.

          • Ok,
            So a bit of time spent in the shed today the following added to the rig;
-Installed a second fire extinguisher in the passenger foot well.

-Made some clamps up and bolted my tool box to the roof rack. Will use this as storage for spare oil, coolant, filters etc and keeps them out of the cab. It may even house a Stihl Mini Boss chainsaw in the future.

-The Ironman store up here is shutting down so I had a quick look and picked up this 60W LED light bar for a discount. I grabbed some GME UHF mounts, gave them a quick spray of black top coat and bolted it all on. It compliments the HID converted IPF's with light output.

Have also ordered the front and rear Harrop E-Lockers. They should be here late next week and will be installed the week after. Really looking forward to this mod after hearing reviews from other members.

            • Gave her a bit of a clean up after a trip to Derby over the weekend. With the wet weather on its way she also copped a few cans of Lanolin.

                    • Well after a long wait the Prado is finally back in the garage with the front and rear E-Lockers in! While everything was pulled apart I also replaced the rear wheel bearings. The process took longer than expected due to the first front diff lock having a faulty electro magnet. Apparently Harrop say these have never failed etc. etc. but did come to the table and sent over another front locker once my mechanic had the diff in and out of the car twice and videoed the install and removal as proof.

I have some rocker switches to install/ replace the basic ones that came with the parts. Photos and updates in a couple of weeks when I can take her up the coast for a decent run.

                      Cheers,

                      • That was a very long wait even allowing for the drama with the faulty diff lock, bet you're glad it's back.

Yeah mate, has been a while but I did let the workshop know they had 4 weeks up their sleeve to get it done while I was away overseas. Just so happened we had this problem with the front locker which blew it out a bit more. Anyhow ill see it in the flesh again in one and a half weeks time when I can get back home.

                          Cheers,

That's fair enough then, didn't realise you were off overseas for part of the time.

                            • Bit of tinkering today sees the install of a twin jerry can holder and 4kg gas bottle bracket to the roof rack. I also put in the diff drop kit from Ozzy Offroad/ MickL swapped the washer jets over for Hilux versions, upgraded the LED light bar brackets and rewired the air compressor that has been living in the cargo area since its change from portable to fixed. Since doing it again im thinking of now having an air tank thrown in the mix somewhere but ill put it on the back burner for now.

                              • There isnt much to show of the Eaton Locker install other than the original grey boxes they came in. The final switches and their position on the dash will be sorted when I get more time.
