Well, I visited the 4x4 show looking for a good price on a new UHF unit... but, the show specials were still dearer than buying from Prestige Communications so I've now ordered a GME TX3540 with aerial (an AE4018K1) delivered for cheaper than the show specials on the TX3345.
I wonder if I can get it installed before the day run this weekend

I know I want to... it'll come, the tear locker that is
The main problem with the bar is its weight. I was investigating some suspension issues last week and after a few phone calls found out the Powerful Bar is 90kg!! I suppose I could play with the suspension but I don't like a couple of other things about the bar either.
The top tube over the headlights is the one that glares back but I've taped that up after a week or so of owning it.
The other reason I'd like to swap it for a T13 bar is because then the winch controller would fit out of sight as it should be.
Other niggling things as well.
Thanks for the sticker offer...
I have kept a spare since putting one on the 90 series back in 2007 or so... From the original print run
Should be a pic of that in the thread somewhere.

snaga. i really like what you bought , i wouldn't swap that 4x4 tuff bar, i'd use it for what it was intended for , front hit's /scrubs and your trips away...
if those tube ties across the standard head lights, give you greif in the "glare dept. . black the back out with gaffa tape ,, and see how it goes
if still bad, get a grinder and cut em out.. i didnt know that it wasn.t a arb bar... till i looked hard... over a few nights ...

It had 55,000k's on it when I bought it and looks to be a reps/demo car from a mechanic so hopefully they looked after the engine for me.
Latest Shot
Here's how it looked last weekend (04/08/2012) after a dusty day at Mt Mee.
I suspect it's done some towing duties and already had on it...
* 2" lift but I've swapped the Pedders out and put a 2" HD Billies and Dobinson combination in.
* BFG AT's
* Toyota tow bar
Dealer installed as part of the deal...
* Safari snorkel
* Powerfull 4x4 Premium Bull Bar
* Narva 225 Spotties.
* Dual batteries
I've since installed...
* Pradopoint sticker
* 2" Raised HD Billies and Dobinson combination
* ARB underbody protection plates
* Electronic brake controller.
* Anderson plug to the rear for the CT
* 12v direct to cargo area for the fridge.
* Replaced 2nd battery with new 105ah deep cycle battery
* Acquire new feet for my commercial Rhino bars so I can fit the Foxwing, Maxtrax and shovel (Done: 19/08/2012)
* Extended the diff and transmission breathers higher in the body. (30/08/2012)
* Repaired a hole that was letting dust into the cargo area through the fuel filler area. (31/08/2012)
* Installed my TG120 - 120 Transfer Case Guard (17/09/2012)
* Purchase/install cargo barrier (20/09/2012 In progress)
* Re-build shelf system for cargo area (20/09/2012 In progress)
The 'to do' list...
* Purchase and install a UHF
* Swap out the Narva lights for my IPF lights off the 90 series.
* Wire up the TJM Ox winch (winch is installed but not connected yet)
* Install ARB CKMA12 compressor under bonnet (will be nice not to have it in the cargo area like it was in the 90)
* Sand grabba Mats... (need these as launching the boat yesterday got my carpet wet)
* Fit new fire extinguisher.
* Improve the recovery points (not comfortable snatching off the bullbar even if they say they are rated recovery points. Will probably go the outback ideas recovery points)
* probably will budget for a rear locker at some point in the near future as I really was amazed at how well they improved the 90 series off road.
* Custom mods to the factory side steps... or maybe even a set of AJ120's rock sliders.
Cheers Derek

Thanks butane. I had the 90 just how I wanted it and then I went and sold it... not too much left to do on this now.
Probably prioritize swapping the powerful 4x4 bar out for a TJM bar so the winch fits better and a rear locker... really miss the rear locker off the 90

I hardly get any bugs making their way to the intercooler since fitting the bug screen. I guess you could say it does its job.
Having said that, whilst I haven't removed it since fitting, I have noticed some rubbing on the chrome underneath.
