Which OME setup did you go with. Was happy with OME on the 90 series and am considering the same on the 150 (another Blue Storm 150 in fact).

It was a medium setup based on what I'm running and I went the 50mm lift over the 25. It's the wife's daily driver too so I didn't want to go to the hard setup. I'll see if I can dig out the part numbers if you're interested.

Coming along nicely. Was looking at getting the blue storm also when i upgraded from my dynamic blue 120 but had to wait 3 months. Being impatient ended up going with the graphite. What did the outback ideas recovery points set you back? They'll be my next purchase.

I got them direct from the outback ideas guy for $150 delivered but they are back on the shelves in my local ARB now for the same price. They charged me an extra $80 to fit them which I thought was a bit of a rip off but since I'd gouged them so bad on the rest of the gear, I didn't mind paying it.

I take it as with the outback idea recovery points on my 120 you've got to source your own bolts and nuts still?

Nope, mine came with all that. Although, now you mention it, the ones at ARB didn't have them on the shelves but maybe that's just to stop people nicking them.

                Home Made Sand Flag

So I've made a few additions to the prado since the last time I posted. The first one I did was a sand flag. I spent a fair while looking around at buying one (basically because I was too lazy to make my own) but in the end, the ridiculous prices of a piece of fibreglass overran by laziness. I ended up making one for about $20. For those wondering how it was done, you'll need:

1 length of 20mm conduit (I cut mine down to about 2.5 metres) about $4
                1 m10 threaded galvanised rod (1.2m long) about $12?
                3 m10 galvanised nuts and 2 m10 galvanised washers (under a buck)
Some silicon (I used leftover roofing sealant)
An old belt to cut some washers out of so that you don't scratch the paintwork on the bar
Something for a flag (I got an orange mesh flag free from minecorp but they were selling them for $2
                A few zip ties.

Put two of the nuts on about 2 finger widths up from one end of the rod and tighten them against each other to give a locked base to bolt against (I also used a bit of threadlocker on these).

Pump a heap of silicon into the conduit from the flared end. Then start feeding the threaded rod into it a bit at a time. It'll pull the silicon in with it so add a bit more silicon every inch or so.

When you get to the end, the nuts should fit inside the flared end of the conduit. I pushed both nuts inside and then had to trim the sides off the flared bit so I copuld get a spanner on to tighten the bottom nut but you could just leave one nut hanging out of the conduit.

I also cut a couple of leather washers out of an old belt to put between the gal washers and the bar so that the gal washers didn't scratch the paintwork (the flag isn't going to be fitted on a regular basis).

I drilled a few holes in the other end to zip tie on the mesh flag. I also got a couple of quickfist mini's to mount the flag when not in use on the inside of my awning. I basicaly made it 2.5 m to fit the awning but it probably could have been longer.

Finished product phot may have to wait as I seem to have exceeded my postimage upload file size (hopefully it resets itself).

I've also just had ARB fit the safari snorkel:

(and you can see Craig's TraxRax fitted up there too)

                    and the ARB bash plates:

Like your work Tiny. Orange conduit adds to the visibility factor as well.

And the latest addition has been to get a set of Cooper ST Maxx 265/70 R17's on new 17inch rims. I'll keep the oem set to put back on for daily driving duties and keep these fresh for 4wding and big trips (PP SImpson trip this year, cape york next year and probably the 2015 GTG in Tas). I was going to go for plain steel wheels but the guy managed to convince me that good alloys would be worth the money. I ended up getting ones made for off road racing in the states and the look is growing on me.

And I had to take the cover off the spare like most people obviously but I'm pretty happy with the final look.

Heading to Yamba for a week next week so hopefully I'll get a chance to try them out. Also planning to build my drawers while I'm down there and then I'll be pretty much ready for the Simpson trip. Definitely coming along nicely.

Thanks. They're starting to grow on me and I have noticed a few people taking a good look as I drove by.
