That lift looks a bit too high for the TEMS shocks. How much droop do you have now? I wouldn't go wheeling on the weekend as the struts might be topping frequently.
I'm not sure if it is the camera angle but the space between the turns on the coil looks pretty close together meaning that the coil might fully compress before you hit the bumpstops and you might not take full advantage of the compression travel of the strut.

I haven't changed anything else at this stage because I wanted to retain the Toyota TEMS shocks. I've still managed to gain a 65mm lift however this is expected to settle back down over the next month or so.
Heights for the front before were 760mm (L) and 745mm (R), after they are 825mm (L) and 810mm (R).
Sorry #### can't recall what the rears came up to since the airbags self-levelling sensors took care of that.
Anthony had some fun with the KDSS specific bits of the suspension but I'll let him chime in with any technical details (assuming they aren't trade secrets LOL).
I'll get some progress pics up as soon as I can work out how to get them off my phone, were sent to me in an MMS message.
Remember you only gained 65mm because of the 10-20mm (approx) you lost adding accessories first.
They will settle, take the real total, subtract 15mm then you will find you end up with a nice 40mm (approx) lift.

Like you said, you are try to find a problem from looking at photos. Saying don't go wheeling on the weekend?
He'll let's just take them out? Are you going to design some special springs for the job?
If you just mentioned the coils being close together, then I could inform you, that's how dobbos roll their springs, for a superior ride compared to another big yellow brand. It's not known to have caused problems, if it did they would fix/change it.
Ok everyone relax, this is Fido's thread, so any good/bad issues with the suspension might be posted here.
I suggest if anyone has any concerns, please contact me directly or Dobinsons and we can explain further to put your concerns at rest
Anthony.

Also that's why Fido had me work on the vehicle, I wouldn't trust anyone else either lol.........
If I had made the spring myself, you should be that concerned.
These type of coils have been used on vehicles including many Prados & Hiluxes use very similar springs, for a long time, including on stock struts.

I'm not doubting your work at all. Please don't take it personally. I also based my comments on the lift being a bit high from the final measurements and not the difference. However, I've realised that this is a Kakadu so about 13mm needs to be taken off the measurements to compare it with a GXL.
My comment about not going wheeling was dependent on the droop. And perhaps waiting for the suspension to settle first to gain more droop before giving it a workout. Even driving around town, being gentle over speed humps and slowing around roundabouts is a good thing. But as there is enough droop, don't let me stop your weekend trip.
I also use Dobinsons and compared to mine, there is a bigger gap between the turns of the coils. It is just an observation based on the photos.
How did you go with adjusting the rear height sensors?
Would you have any of the Dobinsons spec so it can be added to the suspension database?

Looks good. You didn't get the eye shadow colour coded when they repaired the back? Any reason? My 150 build - http://www.pradopoint.com/showthread.php?27423-A-Random-approach-to-a-Bluestorm-150-GXL-D4D-automatic

Letting it settle before we adjust those. Will set it up so it sits nice in "N" position. Then there will be an extra 40ish at "H".
I'm recommending fixng the bag down at the bottom at that time.
I don't have a copy if any specs handy most of what I use is in the brain. They might be on the website?
I have found a few errors on the pp suspension database, now although I think it's is a great thread, if its not accurate then that's potentially worse than not having one, so I was going to stay out of it.
