From my driving position, i don't see the whole top tube of the bullbar. So not much glare at all. Below is my view of the bonnet/bullbar.

My phone has an over temp issue when used as a GPS on long road trips. It would continue to run the GPS app but cannot charge which means a flat battery by the time I get to my destination.
So I needed to make a phone holder that is in front of the air vent. It needed to be a no holes on the dash design so that things can look standard later on.
I removed the driver's side air vent next to the stereo which gave me access to the side of the stereo. I picked up a $2 bracket from Bunnings called something like "Make a bracket". After spending a bit of time shaping the bracket, I ended up with this....
Bracket bolted to the side of the stereo
I then covered the bracket with glue lined heatshrink and a few layers of foam tape so that the phone cradle doesn't wobble.
I then tied shock cord from the passenger's side air vent to one of the holes in the new bracket to act as a "clothesline" to hold a 7" tablet for offroad navigation.
The USB charging cable runs behind the trim, then down and out into the centre console where the cig lighter sockets are.
Here is the end result with the phone cradle attached. It's a bit high which leaves a gap in the vent hole below the cradle but it means I haven't blocked off the entire vent and I can still get some air.
The phone now works well without over heating.

Amts..please post up some pics when installed!
Are they 'special' one's for Sovereign bars? I remember reading the 'outback ideas' like a lot of us have, are not ideal as they can put too much strain on the chassis? Yea macaroon I read that also a whole ago so I didn't purchase them. They were at the time the only one that really fitted with the soverign bar which is what I have. I have used the factory ones (yea I know technically not recovery points) but I use a strap/bridle what ever you call it between the two and a dampner and no issues. Only reason to put these other ones on are to keep the clubs and things happy. Waiting to see pics also fitted up..... Cheers SteveFace lift 150 Prado V6 auto. No mods yet
