no real skill involved.... you only need to have momentum on the down ramp and follow the right line... the sand is firm all the way to the mouth on the low tide.... and knowing how to take off and stop helps. Local knowledge helps too...haha
but it is funny when everyday i go down there i drive past bogged fourbees on the cutting and im on 38 psi!Black mica 06 D4D GXL. , kitted out to take me where we need to go to feel free......

yeah funny i wonder if some guys forget to lock in the hubs?? or dont know how to drive... Ive seen a Landy defender diffed out, a Full kitted out 80 series lifted with muddies bogged..(it looked like the guy from Total traction Tyres 80 dunno if he's sold it) plus most suprisingly a new hilux...(to be fair he stopped because a soft roader got stuck)..Originally posted by baggs71 View PostGood call...unbiased but.....they are usually big patrols etc...ive passed at least 5 in twelve months hurridly letting doen tyres and locking freehubs etc.....
Back on point....loving your rig build up
sundays are a circus on the cutting.... love it.Black mica 06 D4D GXL. , kitted out to take me where we need to go to feel free......

Hello Nigel Just looking at your set up ive done very similar to mine but just something ive made which may help. The Awning on mine was the same as yours originally and noe ive used that same bracket and cut it at the bend and made a T instead of an L and works a gem doesnt touch the car but also doesnt stick up like some others you see around. Good looking set up cheers

That sounds exactly what I wish I had. Thought about it many times. Do you have a pic? I was very hesitant at first as it was sitting very front high and with the 265/65 ATR tyres looked weird.
measurements after lift were 820mm front left
823mm front right
830mm rear left
835mm rear right.Originally posted by nigelh View Postgreat suspension. very happy with it now. has settled just nice.

Just curious what your Front has settled down to now Nigel. I noticed in the pic of the front that at rest your CV's are on a bit of an angle (undesirable?) or is it just the camera angle? If not, perhaps if they are still at this angle, a Diff Drop kit might be in order to bring them level again thus reducing unnecessary wear and stress. (just a suggestion)2004 V6 Grande. BLACK -

Ok went out and measured up the front. hasnt dropped. Front 823 and 820. That's from bottom of the rim to top of the wheel guard directly above. Cvs look ok though.Originally posted by craigm View Post

Got a few little goodies today. Grabbed a set of Wet Seat covers from TJM in the grey. Looks good on the interior color and is great for the beach. Also couldn't resist a new set of spotties too... A nice new set of Light Force 240 XGT. Can't wait to put these bad boys on.. Hopefully find time this week when i do the snorkel...Last edited by nigelh; 12-03-2013, 09:04 PM.Black mica 06 D4D GXL. , kitted out to take me where we need to go to feel free......

Nigel jack up one front wheel and measure the full extension droop, same way as before. I suspect, as does Craig, the front is too high and you have bugger all droop. Not good.Originally posted by nigelh View PostOk went out and measured up the front. hasnt dropped. Front 823 and 820. That's from bottom of the rim to top of the wheel guard directly above. ok ill do it in the next few days. the camera makes it look a bit crazy but it sits nice and level, not nose down. Ive seen a few Hiluxes with way more angle and it doesnt top out at all. Plus i intend to add another battery and a steel ARB bullbar soon so it will be a waste of time taking them out then loading all that gear on and be unhappy with the sag.....know what i mean?Originally posted by mjrandom View PostNigel jack up one front wheel and measure the full extension droop, same way as before.
