ive been a bit slack with my build so i thouht i would had an update. I picked up the new ariel to replace the broken crap uniden one that came with my icom radio, i decided to go with the rfi fibreglass ariel to be a bit different over the standard steel whip model.

Hopefully next weekend ill be getting my new rubber, decided on 275/65/17 bf goodrich ats to keep it legal and didnt want to get too aggressive as i use it as a daily driver.

New tires fitted and 2 inch suspension lift complete! Beudesert exhaust has been ordered and will hopefully get around to installing next week!

Once again been a while...

I fitted up the beuadesert exhaust a month or so ago and it's been awsome ever since instant power improvement just makes me want more though!
Also fitted up a safari snorkel
I have a egt and boost gauges, I'll put up some DIY stuff when I install them, also purchased a bearing kit a new high flow compressor wheel for the turbo, will post more when I get around to that too... After all that a balance for the turbo and a boost controller.

Just installed my gauges so i thought id do a quick how to for anyone who wants to do it themselves as it is very easy!
First step is to figure out where you want your gauges, i decided to put them next to the right hand A pillar, you could get a pillar pod or mount them above the radio but that would involve drilling into the dash so i didnt like that idea.
Second you need to wire up your inputs to your gauges, my gauges needed a constant battery power and earth as well as an igntion/accesories feed for turning the gauges on and a headlight feed for changing the color to a nighttime white.
I picked all of these up from various places under the dash if you want more info just ask, i took all these under the steering wheel and up the A pillar.
Dont forget to put some tubing on them!

Next i mounted the MAP sensor in the engine bay behind the brake reservoir up nice and safe.

and from there you just need to run your air feed into that. My kit came with a little filter so i fitted that as you can see. Its best to take your air feed from after the dampener (little orange thing) this will help stop needle shake. make sure you run it somewhere safe with some tubing over it.

Next was to mount up my EGT sensor. When i ordered my buedesert exhaust i specifically asked them to fit a mounting bung which made this step much easier, i had to find an adapter as the thread in the hole and the thread in the sensor weren't exact but that wasn't very difficult. It was as easy as screw the plug out and screw the sensor in.

fit the electrical leads to them with some plastic tubing and run through firewall up to the A pillar.

Nwxt thing i did was solder my power inputs into the plug harness that came with the gauges.

I filed some of the bottom a pillar out just to reduce the crush on the cables, refit the pillar.

Mounted up my gauge cups.

Fit the gauges into the cups and plug the sensors/wiring harness into them.

No worries Brodsta. I figure most of the work people get done to their car and pay a fortune for isn't really that hard so hopefully people see the info and give it a go themselves if they are confident!

I did my turbo modification a few weeks ago, just getting around to posting anything up. Getting the turbo out was fun with seized bolts and coolant everywhere.
i didnt get many photos of the removal process but its not a job id say is very DIY friendly, bellow are some photos of the turbo stripping process and the updated compressor wheel i installed.

As you can see the new wheel looks quite different, the prado seems to have a bit more grunt at low rpm high torque situations and doesnt puff out like it used to at 3k+rpm, haven't decided as yet if a boost adjuster is really necessary, anyone who plans to do anything with there turbo internals just remember it is safest to get it re balanced before any pressure is applied to the internals.
