Awesome mate!!! That looks great and the clearance is perfect! If I end up doing my suspension again i will definitely use Cal off road gear. He is the most helpful bloke out there and really regretting I didn't go down this path the first time round!

It would be great to hear a review from you on how the Prado feels ride wise on a really rough surfaced road and unsurfaced road.

I assume you went for the maximum height (3") from the set up as that is the part I struggled to understand, it's adjustable or something?

Gday VX, Yep Cal is a pretty dam helpful bloke. I went for the 3 inch to help fit the 285 tyres. The front struts have two different circlip positions for the lower spring seat, so you can pick the height when they are assembling the strut.

Its heading back to the guys who did the suspension on Tuesday to have the diff drop fitted and the wheel alignment done again to fix the UCA scrubbing. The Camber wasn't set correctly on the drivers side so the tyre just touches the UCA.

The Narva fuse block has 6 x perm power and 6 x acc power run through a 60amp breaker each. I used some velcro to hold the fuse block in place so i can get to it when I need too, and the compressor is bolted down.

I had a similar issue with my GQ, just let some air out of the tyre and it will fit.

Like you build by the way, the FJ rims look very nice.

I hate to admit it, but a 150 with 3" lift and 285's actually looks good!

                          Nice work christo!

Picked the car up from having the diff drop installed and a final wheel alignment. Drives bloody great! Very little body roll, nice and direct steering, doesn't wander or drift across the road. Will be heading out bush this weekend so I will give a better report next week.

No more rubbing issues on the UCA! There isn't much clearance, but it does miss, and looking at the tyre its mainly the side bitters that are the problem. I would say that other tyres would clear easily.

The tyres still touch the mud guards, and I will try and get that finished off this week.

                            Happy days

Just be careful if you lay it right over, I had never had any rubbing issues until I put the driver's side in a deep rut and she was well and truly on a side angle. After the recovery I have a nice mark on the UCA where the deflated tyre was rubbing.

I finished up all the wiring last night as per the wiring diagram in an earlier post. Quietly pleased with that too, everything worked as planned. I had all the wiring gear planned out even down to what crimps and eyelets I would need and Ive got to say it made the job bloody easy and heaps quicker!

Because this is a daily driver and Im a civil engineer its got a reversing squawker, and a flashing light for when Im on site. Ive wired the light and reverse alarm so they only work when the switch is turned on and through a relay with ACC power. My last hilux was a PITA because the light and alarm had permanent power. So at 5am when I left for work and reversed out of my driveway everybody on the block could hear me. Plus I may have had the odd flat battery leaving the flashing light on...

Anyway my wife also works in construction as an environmental manager and at about 9:30 last night I came back inside from the shed our conversation went along the lines of.

"So how is it all going? did you get everything finished that you wanted too?" she asks

"yep everything is in and working, reverse beeper and flashing light is in, UHF all fitted up and works. Pretty happy about that actually" I proudly announce

"ah that's good, then you wont mind me driving it to work tomorrow"

                                "....."

Yep she got me hook line and sinker...
