Ok some long awaited spy shots. Bit of a nightmare getting photos. My parents currently have the car (and by the look of it enjoy driving it). They live on a rural property with no internet or mobile phone, so emailing photos on the ipad required a trip into town. But never fear the photos are here.

Photos are pre suspension, and by the looks of it the front windows havent been tinted yet either...

Well done Chris! So the rumours ARE true!

Looks good so far, look forward to more pics in due course. Don't forget to wind that winch rope on under tension once you get it, they normally aren't pre-tensioned from the factory.

Haha yep it exists! Talking to the missis last night and I accidently let slip that this feels like its been a longer wait than waiting for bub to arrive. That didnt go down well!

Re winch its my old winch off our previous cruiser. Its actually one of my favourite mods, one thats seldom used but I still love it. Its a Superwinch X9 thats been upgraded with a Warn 6hp motor that is commonly seen on a lot of Hi-mount comp winches. We use the solid state solenoids with a wireless controller and also have a winch in/out switch in the cab. Ive used a 200amp (500-600amp peak capacity) redarc dual battery solenoid so when winching I can link the batteries with a hope of getting some transfer of power through it. The Cruiser used to have both batteries linked permanently when the ignition was on, so the winch pulled from both batteries and it used to pull like a freight train. We had done some single line winches pulling 3 odd tonne of cruiser and it never bogged.

When it came off the cruiser I pulled it down and gave it a fresh grease, so it should be fresh as a daisy. By the looks of the photo the old wire rope is still on the drum, as the fairlead hasnt been changed over yet. Ive got 35m of 10mm rope sitting in the shed waiting.

The wait for this car sure is a LONG one! Plus work is seriously drying up here on the northcoast, which is not cool.

However, I just ordered some 5 x 285/70R17 Cooper ST Maxx (Tyrepower was the cheapest at $420/shoe), and I'll get them fitted to the FJ rims on Saturday.

Well the Prado is en route from the South Coast! And apparently loaded to the hilt with all the crap I was storing at my parents place (bugger, now I need to find somewhere else to store it all hahaha).

Sounds like they will be here Wednesday afternoon (they have decided to take it casually up the coast!) which will put the Prado here in time for my 30th Birthday!

Nice Suspension Kit! Are these front struts the 5100"s? I wonder what tuning Caloffroad actually do to these shocks? Do the revalve??? or just whack a sticker on them stating "Tuned in Australia" after matching them up with other kit...

I spoke with with Cal on the phone quite a bit before I went down this road. He was happy to talk about the specifics for over an hour (twice) and his product knowledge, and knowledge of the front ends of the Hilux/Prado's was awesome. He was generally really helpful, didnt nessesarly push his product onto me, and I was happy to fork out my hard earned.
