Craig, I have the KTFR101HDs in all round and very happy with them and I have a lot of weight up front and they haven't sagged. Kings also have a new tapered HD spring out that is meant to be a bit more comfortable
Pop over if you want to got for a drive in it with HD's but being a diesel it doesnt have all your killerwasps......

Thanks Robert. I will take you up on that offer. We can swap cars and do a drive across Mt Cootha. (You'll need to wear a neck brace to avoid the whiplash from the acceleration since you're so used to driving the diesel though).

KTFR101HD's will be the fix...
          Looking Really good Craig.

Whats next apart from the springs?

The Prado is booked in with Fulcrum Suspension this Friday to get the bottom bushes replaced on both sides of my Bilsteins. This was a result of the bottom nuts being tightened up while the Prado was in the air. (Lazy bas^&rds) I am also replacing my KTFR101's to 101HD's at the same time to compensate for the extra weight that has been piled onto the Prado in the last 12 mths (Aux Battery, Compressor, Sliders, amts impending Bash plates and probably a few extra kg's around the belt )

Will be interested to hear your feedback on the HD King Springs craig. Most comments I have read on here rate they too firm/harsh, though it may be because they don't have enough weight in the front.

Seems to me that having a winch up front is the clincher, something you have.

And the 105ah AGM Battery sitting behind the drivers side headlight as well MK. Gumboot is running the same springs in his 120 D4D and I hope to have a quick run in his Prado tomorrow night just to compare as he is running similar Kit. The only real difference is Petrol v D4D.

                    • Craig,

I was concerned the HD springs would be too harsh as well so I fitted the 'H' spring that has the lower rating but longer spring to make up for the weight. Personally could't be happier and you have seen how they perform and know what accessories I have fitted.

If you like take mine for a spin as well that way you can compare Roberts and mine before departing with your cash.

                      Leave it to you

                        • I had the Front springs replaced today with KTFR-101HD's. Such a big improvement in the handling. No more wallowing and the Prado now corners as if it's running on rails. I just had too much weight on the KTFR-101's and the new found ride height reflects that, going from 775/780 (RF/LF) to 815/820. I expect it to settle down 5-10mm and the CV's are presently a little off level, but I'll give it a 1000klmsor so before I take any action on that. I will chuck a couple of washers under the rear height sensors to bring the back up again as I had it sitting at about 825mm. I think 835-840 will be a little better. The bottom Bushes on the struts that were replaced today during the same exercise were truly shot so I can rest easy that all is good up front now. Going for a beach up to Bribie run this Sunday for Fathers Day so looking forward to a good drive. I'll post some pics then...

My HD's also seltled about 10 mm over time.

                              • Just popped a couple more panel washers under the sensors to pack them out. To the Prado for a good drive and threw it around a bit to help settle the springs in.
