  • DSS150's GXL

I suppose its about time I stuck a few pics in here :P

Pretty happy with how the mods are progressing with my Prado, the bank account... not so much!

From new I got the windows tinted and got rubber floor mats and cargo mat. Also Toyota towbar.

Also got electronic rust protection unit installed.

Got some Toyota roofracks and the rooftray, which I am now selling to upgrade.

Set of Cooper AT3's swapped with the standard hoops.

ARB installed a colour coded Deluxe Bullbar and IPF spotties and Bash Plates.

Got TJM to fit up my Airtec Snorkel.

Then fitted up the Roadsafe recovery points at work.

Did a self install of my GME UHF and also did a home made table that folds down inside the rear door, with homemade toolbag located in rear door.

Then fitted up some el' cheapo LED interior lights that work very well.

Most recently I got ARB to install an Old Man Emu lift kit.

Next things being done are ARB Deluxe Alloy Roofrack and Dual Battery Setup this Wednesday.

Battery setup will include 2x 12v sockets in the rear as well as switch and wiring for 2x worklights on rear of rack.

They will also wire in this LED Lightstrip to the Aux battery with switch in rear.

The list of other goodies I have so far are...

      TRED's
      ARB portable air compressor
Snatch strap with shackles and towbar hitch.
Slowly getting a tool kit together for trips
Bushranger cargo bag for roof rack

The list of mods I want which is growing daily is...

Seat Covers (thinking either wetseats or MSA canvas)
Drawers in rear, probably side by sides with fridge slide or dropslide (more than likely Drifta unless I find something else)
Fridge/freezer (open to advise on this, more so which not to buy)

Looks good Dan! How do you find the Airtec snorkel? Which GME UHF is that? I can't recall seeing a red one before.

          Thanks fido

The Airtec took me a while to decide on over the safari, wasn't sure about the look.
Must say it has grown on me and the boost in performance from the ram air type effect is a big plus.

The GME is a TX3100, i bought it in the plug n play kit but decided to make it a permanent fixture in the Prado.

Looking good Dan. I agree it is good to see your rig come together but it does hurt the bank account a bit, haha.

I'm the same, can't decide if I like the wraparound look.

Looks OK, better than having a 12v lead dangling everywhere. Can you still view the control panel OK from the driver's seat?

Yeah can see it fine from drivers seat, pretty happy with location.

                  Hi Dan,

That table you made looks really good, I wouldn't of picked it for home made. If you don't mind me asking where did you find the corner mouldings?

                  Cheers

For what its worth, i love my arb fridge. Got some clever design features, and can't fault the quality.

I'm with Smithy, I love my ARB fridge. Just need to stop being slack and do the wiring in the Prado.
I have been using it as a beer fridge in the house since I sold my Disco.

x2 on the ARB Fridge (60l) Have a look Here at Matts (LiveFreeAndRoam) fitout with the DRIFTA system for the 150 with MSA Drop slide and 60l fridge (3rd pic down in post) And also mine which has the integrated Fridge slide Here. Cheaper, lighter and uses less real estate than the MSA Slide and you can use the area better when the fridge is not in situ.

Hi Craig, I am 99% sure I will go with a setup the same as you have in your 120.

The slide built into the unit will work better for day to day loading of groceries, pram etc.

Could you possibly do me a favour and measure the unit height?
I am getting dual battery setup and power to the rear done Wednesday. Beechy is away and I can't speak to him about it.

Want to make sure my rear power outlets sit just above the drawer system.

I am assuming that the drawers are the same height as the 150's systems Dan. From floor to the top is just under 310mm. The inside drawer depth in both drawers in mine is 190mm. The 120 has a side compartment on each side and the drawers sit just above the bottom lip on each side as per pics below.

                              Excellent, thanks Craig!

                              Exactly what I needed.

I may not get the drawers for a while but at least I know the power panel will be in the right spot now.

                              Cheers!
