Hey guys,

I recently bought a 2010 Toyota Prado 150 series GXL 3.0L TD 6 speed Manual. I got it unmodified but good as I could do it up how I wanted, I've only got this photo at the moment, but I'm heading up north to Broome for a trip, I will get plenty of photos while I'm up there. Feel free to add you comments on what else I should get with modifications & accessories? also where can you get these items & for what price? Plus what are good accessories to get for camping (Brand & where to get it from).

Great setup Danny - what a start you have made to the mod process!

Broome can be awfully hot, so I'd be thinking a fridge and dual battery is a good investment. Fridge (depending on size) will set you back probably at least $1000, plenty of brands to choose from there with popular models being ARB and Engel.

A dual battery set up is good for running the fridge in the back if you want it to keep running once you stop and don't want to drain your starter battery. Prices on a dual battery set up vary quite a lot, depending on your requirements. Plenty of threads on here about what to consider, including what type of second battery suits your needs, what other accessories you may plan on running, and getting a dedicated power outlet in the back. Many have installed a dual battery setup themselves, with plenty of threads on that also to step you through.

Nice looking rig there Danny! Like Madkore said great start with those mods.

Dual battery is a must if camping and I also would not do a trip without a fridge these days. I'd probably also look at:

Brains' TG150 Actuator Guard and upgraded underbody protection
If you are doing rough tracks, perhaps a set of Rock Sliders? Many places do these and generally they range from about $800 to $1,200.
Snorkel perhaps? TJM Airtec usually goes for about $600 installed
LED Light bars or strips for camping - I got mine on ebay - 4 bars for $80 more light than i need.
Some sort of awning? I have the Oztrail RV awning at the moment, but I am considering upgrading to a foxwing so that the tailgate area is undercover as well. Oztrail on special at BCF currently for $239 and Foxwing usually around the $750 mark.
The first thing I pack for camping is the camp oven and the Ubute twin burner butane BBQ - $60 odd from most camping places.
Depending on what trips you are planning a Winch?
Also I find my 40L rear footwell water tank a must - $200 from TJM
Drawer system for the back? Depending on what you get they can be $1,500 - $2,500. I am in the process of custom building a set for mine (partly to get exactly what I want and partly to save $$), a good set of drawers makes camping much more organised and enjoyable.
Decent Tyre gauge and pump
Good torch
Small folding table and comfy chair

Apart from that plenty of cold beer!

There are heaps of other things as well, I have a list that I work from to make sure I don't forget anything (or take cr@p I really don't need).

PS - What brand is your Rooftop tent Rack and is it steel or Alloy? I went looking for an Alloy one and the best price I've got so far was $1950 which IMO is just ridiculous.

Yeah cheers, yeah there are so many things I need but it helps getting some ideas on what to get next. I bought the roof rack online from ebay which come from a 4wd shop in NSW which got sent over, The pictures of the one I got looks like the sames pictures from the Tigerz11 roof rack, I got mine for $350 then you have to pay freight which I got my freight for $50 then $10 insurance in case anything happened but had to pick it up from Perth, It is brand new. I installed it myself as well as other places were gonna charge $300 to install. But if you come a member of 4wdaction you can get emails sent with specials which are pretty good prices as well. Yeah I've got a Steel Roof Top Tent Rack which can take up to 500kg in weight.
