  • D4Dazz's GX 150

    Well it felt like an eternity but the day finally came yesterday and took delivery of our new GX 150. After last 3 years being in a Mitsubishi Challenger, it's great to be back in a Prado. The 150 is my third Prado. I had 2 120's prior to the Challenger. Anyway all seems to be in order thus far.

    Accessories added so far are, Color coded ARB deluxe bar, ARB Steel side steps, OME 50mm Lift, Snorkel and tyre upgrade to BFG All Terrains. For now I have stuck with the standard size tyres for the GX (245/70R/17).

    Future accessories or upgrades;
    ARB or Pirahna Dual Battery System
    Drivings Lights (undecided which way to go here)
    Rear storage - still undecided weather to build or buy.....
    Brake Controller for towing our Jayco Expanda Outback
    Modification of the Rhino Deck I took off the Challenger
    Window Tint
    UHF

    Anyway photos should follow shorty.

              Lucky I went for the steel side steps...... Large lid came up in cup weekend and put a nice bend ibN the checker plate. Alloy would have just folded. Should be o hard to beat out.

                Saw the rig in the flesh today (albeit briefly), looking good!

                Just a reminder, my wheels were painted at Advanced Alloy Wheel Repairs in Moorabbin if you ever need the same thing done to yours. It would probably be cheaper to buy new rims that come black from the factory though, the previous owner of our Kakadu must just have liked the factory rims.

                  Thanks for that Fido...

                  I do love the look of the 18's in black though.

                    Have a look at my Rig Build thread if you want to see what a freshly painted one looks like, just had the spare wheel done as it was unpainted.

                      Looks good. Seing all the rigs with the steele side steps makes me want to upgrade ours.

                        I agree Palmer I'm as envious as you are, so next year looks like sliders, underbody protection, new wheels and tyres.
