My 2008 Prado GXL petrol

Hi all,

Have been a lurker for a while now, and figure it was about time to pull out the finger and start my own build page.

So, I'm the first to admit that the original purchase of the Prado was a bit of a spontaneous act - I was driving past Toyota and decided to take a 120 for a spin. Next I knew, I had ordered a brand spanking new 2008 GXL Prado petrol, with Sovereign bullbar and a couple of extras - mats and stuff.

It was in the week after delivery that I installed a Uniden CB and some Lightforce Striker 170s, roof cage and Rhino Sports bars.

I remember at the time thinking that completed the build - how wrong I was!!

Got to admit, I thought that I was just about done with my build at one stage - when you get on here you get so many more ideas. It's neverending, but lotsa fun

Noice 120 Adam!

My decision was exactly the opposite and after too many years trying to save up for a new 4wd just had to bite the bullet and get a loan. blah
Had a trusty GQ diesel patrol since birth (of the car) but after 15 years of corrugations it was time for something with electric windows!

GU Patrol? Shizen houzen diesel motor, new petrol Patrol? no thanks I don't own an oil company, 200 series mmm too big too expensive, diesel prado looks good, but uh oh wait on what's all this about injector seal problems and having to change them out every 40,000 km!!! Don't think so...Been waiting for about 3 years now for a Prado V6 turbo diesel and have given up waiting... So a V6 Petrol Prado it is. Wow what a nice 4wd compared to the old GQ.

TJM colour coded bull bar 1st, then ARB twin motor air comp (under drivers seat) now 2" OME lift kit. (Had OME's on patrol for 15 years and were faultless) next a roof rack, dual batt system, solar charge controller, and later some new cooper st maxx boots, spotties and then.......... the list goes on
