  • Terry's D4D

Took delivery of my 2008 D4D Prado yesterday (110,000 kms). Many mods to be done this week and I will report later.

But interested in service schedule. Book says every 10,000kms - most advice says every 5000kms. It has been serviced according to the 10,000 km schedule for the past 5 years. Tempted to go to 5000kms.

    Can you suggest why?

Hey Hutch I see a Petrol 120 blow up recently........its on this forum somewhere. Lol. There are thousands and thousands of Prado owners with D4D's that have never had any problems with their cars. I almost bought a petrol one but the fuel costs leaned me towards the diesel. I think both are great.

Thanks Rob - I have been reading that thread for about 3 months and tossing up whether to go with the diesel. Obviously said yes.

High level of maintenance and vigilance top priority. Also a trusty mechanic - Dynotune in Belconnen in Canberra. He has been servicing my Honda and is meticulous and trustworthy.

Anyone want to buy a 2004 Honda Euro.

Also bought it through Lander Toyota in Sydney - good warranty.

I get a mechanic to service mine every 10,000 but do an oil change myself every 5,000 between the paid services...

            Cheap insurance.
