Had a dual battery system fitted by UV4x4 (ARB) Brendale during the week. Would like to have done the work myself but after taking a hard look at the calendar and a list of other tasks that need to be completed before our planned Victorian High Country trip at Christmas I decided that discretion was the better part of valour.

After spending a number of hours reading the forum - Wow, that is a contentious choice isn't it - I went with the following:
RedArc SmartStart BCDC 1220
Optima 34 Yellow top
Engel socket (for fridge) and cigarette light socket in LHS read quarter
additional 6mm wire fed for future installation of a fuse block - you can see this wire coiled ready to be connected when I need it.




While the battery has a smaller capacity than some other systems, the ARB tray and included RedArc mount system fits very neatly without coming anywhere near the air-conditioner pipe.

I will be ordering a rear draw system tomorrow from OffRoad Systems (ORS) in Narellan, Sydney. Glad they have a local Brisbane agent, postage will be a killer. Will be fitting the Fridgepack 1L version. I like this draw solution because it allows room for the Engel and also an additional esky as well.

Have had a quiet few weeks after getting back from a trip to India for work. However, as we are planning a Victorian High Country trip after Christmas it is time to get back on the wagon and have a few last minutes things completed. Made the trip over the TJM Brendale today to get an Airtech snorkel and diff breathers fitted.

I acquired a Tigerz11 awning a few weeks back - price was hard to go past - but have been underwhelmed by the mounting hardware supplied. The right angle bracket supplied was never going to work for my factory rails and Toyota bars. As Toyota bars are just Rolla by another name I asked Darren at TJM for his recommendation. I am not one to miss an opportunity, and since the truck was in the shop already I asked him to get his boys to fit the awning at the same time.

IMHO the result is fantastic!

Also picked up a set of Offroad Systems drawers (http://www.offroadsystems.com.au/) this week and will be fitting them in the next 2 weeks. Its finally coming together! but ... lots more to go

I've always wondered whether it would be possible (or sensible???) to try to squeeze the Engel / Cigarette socket into the cup holder of the rear quarter panels. If they would fit, I figured the structure around the cup holder would provide some protection for the plugs.

Well, I disappeared for a while. It's been a crazy year with work commitments, but my new years resolution is to get back on the horst and start contributing to the forum. Lots has happened to the truck in the past 12 months, including a lift kit, storage, and other goodies. Will post these up in the next few weeks.

For now, a shot of the finished storage. Very happy with the outcome!
