  • 2013 White GX 150

    Hi guys,
Just thought I would post some pics of our new family car. 1 month old and 1200 Kms on the clock.
Had tint put on the following day after picking it up and a week later had a tjm colour coded bulbar fitted with fog lights. Went with a white bullbar because there are so many mining/gas GX models here in darwin and just wanted it to look a bit more luxury than them! I ordered a hid hi beam/ low beam kit of eBay which I fitted yesterday. Very simple the low beams took about 2 minutes as the globe goes straight into the ballist and it's all just plug and play. The high beams I had to make a little bracket for the ballists which wasn't too bad. So after an hour or two tested the lights and they are great. Replaced all the interior lights with led lights because I like the colour they give off and also the low current draw. On the 3rd day of owning the prado my wife went into labour at 10 pm and in the rush of getting from the car to the hospital we left the interior lights on. Next day. Flat battery. So now I don't really need to worry about that. Have ordered Roo Systems side steps which should be less than a week away. I am hoping they are a good product. Also bought a Toyota cargo mat which goes over the 3rd row seats. Toyota gave me the 3rd row seats for nothing and they said it was good for ' resale'. No argument here. Ok I will posts some pics if I can work out how. Huntertom

Have booked in a suspension upgrade at L and S suspension for next Thursday. Going with a 2 inch lift. Using dobinson coils and efs shockies. Might even get the UCA changed aswell depending on the research I do ( i think with 285 tyre will rub?)Thinking of either 285/70 or 265/70. Not much price difference between the two just not sure if 285/70 r17 on a 17 x 9 +18 offset rim and rub on the UCA, I expect it to rub the guards . If anyone knows?

I put the roo systems rock sliders on last week. Not too sure what I think of them yet, my wife likes them so I'm hoping they grow on me. I'll upload a pic soon. Cheers, Huntertom

            Hi Huntertom

How does it handle with just the bar fitted with no suspension upgrade?

Did it drop much with the bar fitted?

            Cheers

Yeah with the new bar fitted it didn't make a difference to how the vehicle drives. Just made it easier judging distances at the front of the vehicle when parking. I didn't measure before the T13 tjm bar was fitted so not sure how much it dropped. Huntertom
