  • Cheers, they look alright!

How big are they? Its hard to scale from the image.
Also, any chance of them rattling while driving without the fridge?

    • Drifta Drawers do have a nice tie down that they can sell you. They are recessed however but are spring loaded so no rattles. They do also carry the surface mounted tie down points also

I think they're about 60mm x 25mm (ish!). They may rattle as they are metal on metal, but a cheap option.

Craig's drifta options do look the goods but a bit $$$!
        Cheers

I like the Rubber Drifta option - checking eBay for a something more competitively priced!

          • After much googling and eBaying, it seems Drifta have cornered the market for the Rubber Tie Down Points...
I cant seem to find anything similar out there.

Hadn't thought of that, but it may well be the way to go. I was looking at other removable tie downs, but they were about $20-$30 a piece.

                • Nut and bolt shop will have the t-nuts for 50c each or there abouts, they will also have the eye bolts but not sure on price. Bunnings have them for $3 or so each. Best thing is you can put multiple t-nuts in to suit different cargo set ups and they are all but invisible when the eye bolt is removed. Use a short pan head screw with the head overlapping the flange of the t-nut to stop it pushing out as you push the eye bolt down to get it started.

                  • Does one install these with the metal face up (on top of my drawers) or down (on the underside of the top of the drawers) or does it not really matter?
Google installs them with the metal face away from what I am screwing in, but I think it would protect the carpet around the hole if I install them with the metal face up.

                    • Definatly metal face away from the load. When you screw the eye bolt in it pulls the threaded insert through the timber until the flange bottoms out. Use a body washer to protect the carpet if you want. If you mounted it the way you are thinking they would just pull straight out.

I've had surprising difficulty sourcing these things, even the local specialist bolt shop only has imperial sizes. I'm still searching for some to fix up my fridge slide which I made the mistake of just screwing down, the screws keep ripping out.

Ive found them online, but the shipping is a killer. I may have to use imperial ones yet...see how I go!

                              • Any Brisbaneites who are looking for them check out the nut and bolt shop on Evans Rd Salisbury, they do metric ones, M5 suit the MSA drop slide with 25mm pan heads, spring and flat washers.
